  1. Rockhopper print head problem after change

Sorry I thought it was the later rockhopper with the dx4 heads. Your printer is real old school. Still looks like a head cable issue or maybe a faulty head board. SC
  2. Rockhopper print head problem after change

    Does it have dx4 printheads?
  3. Rockhopper print head problem after change

Is this a Rockhopper, Rockhopper II or Rockhopper III?
  4. Rockhopper print head problem after change

So if you put the black head on a different channel it will work? If you plug the two cables on the head the wrong way round it will fry the head. SC
  5. Rockhopper print head problem after change

Did you cross the cables over as this can destroy a head? Is it just that head that is doing this? Can you swap the cables over to check the head is working? It could be a dead head. SC
  6. Mimaki Jv3-160 s not printing at all!

Re-seat head cable. Check that the head is pulling ink through. If no ink is pulled through check damper manifold and cap. SC
  7. Rockhopper print head problem after change

Fit a new head cable. This should be the issue. SC
  8. I need a mimaki jv3 tech ******

Why don't you tell us what is up and maybe we could guide you on repairing it yourself? This will save $$$$ on a tech. Also this site is crammed full of info and fixes for the JV3 SC
  9. The gall of some customers.

This thread is scary but this is happening a lot now. Only thing is to counteract with either an additional 5-10% on the job or come up with outrageous terms also. I haven't come across anyone wanting an annual fee for their business. The only thing is if I had to pay a business an annual fee I...
  10. Falcon Jr. Magenta not printing

If it is not a faulty damper, O ring seals or leaking pipework it might be a leaking manifold. As these use the very old Epson DX2 heads I do not have first hand knowledge of this. On a further note it could be a bad seal on the capping station. SC
  11. Mutoh vj 1204

I bet the pins on the smart card reader inside the machine has some bent contacts with the cartridges being taken out and in. I would purchase a set of 4 card readers and replace them all. I have replaced mine twice now as they are very fragile. Please note due to the material the pins are made...
  12. Mutoh VJ 1604

You are not making much sense! If you are using an old head this may be also blocked. If the head is blocked it is very difficult to see if the pump is working. Or the pump could be blocked from not being used. I think the first thing you should be doing is checking the pump is pulling ink...
  13. mutoh prismjet salvageable?

NO It's a simple answer as probably the very least it will need is 4 print heads, dampers, head cables, caps, pumps, flush and new ink carts. Not to mention little bits and pieces and lots and lots of patience and time. This is an old machine after all and has been superseded by much faster and...
  14. 3M ControlTac, screen printed with liquid lam?

We do a lot of repairs for a national company here in the UK (British Gas). Their whole vans are wrapped in this type of material liquid laminated 3M controltac with no air release then covered in paper application tape! It is an absolute ball ache to fit and kind of defeats the idea of a wrap...
  15. Problem black JV3-160sp

+1 on this comment as they do go brittle over time. Why have you touched the dampers? SC
  16. ValueJet 1614 bidirectional problem

Yes you can set the adjustment up in the main menus. But most RIPs bypass the media settings (unless set not to) so using this to set up the adjustment will not work. Is your print test perfect as even with a couple of blocked nozzles on a bi-directional low resolution print you will get this. SC
  17. Problem black JV3-160sp

I would also order some caps as the seals can go hard and the seal is the important part when trying to get it to pull ink through. Can you pull ink through the other colours with a syringe? SC
  18. Problem black JV3-160sp

Is the pump pulling ink through? Are all the pipework properly connected? Do you have ink? Start with the simple stuff! SC
  19. Signlab9.1 patch issue

I had similair problems when I upgraded to Ver. 7 years ago. And since then I hate updating as it always causes issues. But due to upgrading all of our computers to Windows 7 pro 64 and i7 processors I thought it would be a good idea to download and install the latest build. Seriously this is...
  20. Signlab9.1 patch issue

Surely some of you people who have upgraded to Signlab with Cadlink selling it off so cheap will have updated their programme. I have more holes in Build 0.6 than Swiss cheese! Someone must be having issues? SC
