Not sure if it's relevant but we've printed black to clear/translucent to make a tint for windows. If the black comes out too light we'll do a "double strike" print for a deeper tint.
Speed of printing is irrelevant imo. We use two seperate units. The print technician can gang print many different jobs on one media then turn it over to somebody else to plot or hand cut meanwhile he/she can change out the media and continue printing other jobs. Much better workflow. If you're...
Hmmm hire a pilot with lot's of actual flying time or someone who took a written course and flew airplanes on playstation/XBox
p.s. When it was apparent that I'd have to retire from the military sooner than I wanted, I panicked. Where I work now is the first place I cold called to see if they...
This is who I've been corresponding with for rebranding signage down the street from us. I have a pdf with all the typical configurations (Media Kit)

A big thank you to all who lead me to Trim USA. Sent them an email requesting samples. Two days later the samples came in and we're golden. The frames work fine with the ProEdge trimmer tools we had already. Placing our order today!
p.s. no one gets a finders fee or commission. lol
As suggested above, on short runs of decals that won't require any pre-mask we make two cuts. Do the die cut first then cut an outer 1/8" or so "Punch Cut/ Half Cut". Then just weed out that 1/8". Decals come out much cleaner i.e. no torn corners and such. MAkes for an easy peel and stick for...
Have you any experience with other printers? Mimaki was the easiest I've ever seen. I'll give it to HP though for finally listening to their customers. The newer models are a lot easier to load.
Changing media/substrate on the HP360 in a nutshell
1. Release pinch rollers (lever)

We hired a traditional illustrator once. Her portfolio was fantastic work. Lots of pencil drawings and such and said she had experience with digital work too but.....NOT
My background started in the traditional arts i.e. painting, pastels, drawing etc. For which I've won several awards. On the...
I do design with coreldraw. I use Omega for some jobs too. We have have flexi but only use it for print managing. Also have a subscription to Adobe illustrator.
I print, plotter cut, weed, banner hem and grommets, applications to various substrates, vehicle installs (simple text vinyl and...
I'm a cat person. Less clumsy, don't smell as bad, rarely lick you, quiet and easier to maintain. I'd post a pic of our shop cat, Josephine, but she refuses to sign the release form.
The bigger question is what is classified as a "big" file. Larger than 700MB has some "wrongs" going on.i.e. designed in photoshop at full size (2ft x 30ft) and 300dpi or more. Overkill
My bias comes from years of being around non responsible pet owners in general. And I love my job here. It's only about a 3 mile commute and "banker hours" 8-5 m-f.
I grew up on a hobby farm where we had all kinds of animals. Cows, horses, goats, pigs...Most of our friends or family shared the...
