  1. What is a more proper description?

A designer is tasked to provide a background for a 2 x 6 banner and they'll just fill in the text as needed. I automatically assume they mean 2h x 6w. If one is to make directions "dummy proof" then it is imperative to include either the "w" & "h" or "landscape" or "portrait" ps 6 x 2 still...
  2. What is a more proper description?

This may be a debatable issue but what is the more proper way to describe the dimensions of a sign? A 12 x 18 is missing one pertinent piece of the description. Landscape or portrait? I always refer to a banner as 2 x 6 "landscape" or 2h x 6w. Never would I refer to a banner as 6 x 2. One...
  3. Hello From Miami - We get to the beach once every three months-

That's what I mean. You can take the catalytic converter off your car too.
  4. What next after JV33?

We had a JV we loved until it came time for a $7000 repair. Replaced with an HP360. Color output will never be the same. Good luck printing replacement panels for fleet vehicles you wrapped from prints on the Mimaki. We do this a lot especially on sheriff cars. They hit deer all the time here...
  5. Hello From Miami - We get to the beach once every three months-

Florida has 2 major military installations and we don't have to wait in long lines to get a vehicle inspected every year. I will admit that when the military gave me an assignment to South Florida I had to decline. I've been there, didn't like it. Stopped at a Burger King to ask directions once...
  6. Need Help Design tips for curved rear window - perforated vinyl

Add a "smiley face" to the design. Basically curving everything into a smiley face look. When applied it "flattens" out. If you have the time the whole pattern idea works too. Done that a few times when designing stripes for the hood of Mini Coopers. I don't use templates for the simple fact...
  7. Discussion Considering the switch to latex, Who's done it and Whats your thoughts

And your experience with loading/unloading the 360? Major pita when compared to Mimaki. We change substrates 5-10 times a day. Oh, and the 6-8 ft of waste to connect to the take-up. If you skip the take up you get head strikes out the wazoo! And what about the procedure for using the take-up...
  8. Rounded Corners: Can Anyone Explain This!?

  9. Discussion Considering the switch to latex, Who's done it and Whats your thoughts

We went from a Mimaki to HP360. Hate everything about the 360 as seen throughout these forums. The latest 560 looks like a huge improvement. Maybe HP is actually listening to their users and correcting things. As for going Latex? Good move for the ability to laminate right away. Color will take...

  11. Font peculiarity

Anyone have "GT-Helv_Bold_Ext_1-00" font? I have it but it's doing a weird thing that makes it unusable. I'm just choosing a different font within that family. Just wanted to know if anyone else has problems with it..
  12. banner hem with rounded corners

We hem all our banners with 1" double=stick tape then grommets. I have a 5ft x 10ft banner with 8" radius corners. Any tips for hemming. Relief angle cuts is my thought.
  13. Fonts suddenly not showing up on CoreldrawX7

Yes, a Microsoft update about 2-3 months ago is the culprit. I'm still having font issues. Design and save then open a week later and the font is missing.

  18. HP Latex printers.....

Don't get me started on the HP360. Absolutely the worst printer to operate! What should be and used to be with previous printer a 3 step operation is now 10 steps and a lot of "babysitting" Let's say you used a printer for 5-8yrs with great results, most everyone in the shop could run it with...
