Sounds like a jet that somehow seems to fix itself between the time of the problem, and your test print.
You try kicking the machine? The carriage specifically? Your magenta head specifically?
When it's printing, do you see that strip while the ink is being laid down, like in the middle of the very first pass?
Or is it the very beginning or very end edge of that pass that the strip comes from

I think it's the anchor position in the transform tab, which will fix your problem.
I'd ask the customer : \
Plus it appears you're killing yourself, overspending way too much time on one job. Figure out how much time you spent, with how much money you "made" and it's not going to be a very pretty number, I'd imagine.
