  1. Scitex FB950 supplies

Hmmm, they were mentioned by HP for service when we had a breakdown earlier this month but we had a nasty experience with them involving a Colorspan. I bet they'll answer the phone this time...
  2. Scitex FB950 supplies

Can anyone recommend a good source for FB950 parts/supplies? I'm needing some wipers, filters, etc. Most of us in the shop would prefer not dealing with HP if we can avoid it.
  3. Zund Conveyor Belt Cut Into

That sucks! I had an incident where the router went through the mats all the way into the air table. Still not sure exactly what happened. I AKI'd the bit after a change(went to a substantially shorter bit), bit showed no signs of slippage. Zund went through the software remotely and didn't see...
  4. Hp fb950

I don't have one for sale but I'm curious why you're looking for one. Capacitor fall off? Had that happen on our Colorspan and the 950 board looks real similar...
  5. HP FB950 Lamp housing wear

Wondering if anybody else has seen this. I've been getting intermittent shutter errors out of the lamps. Service side happened once, user side has happened several times. After it tripped an error and stopped last night while running some banners unattended, decided it was time to swap out the...
  6. Avalanche rear window

I'm pretty sure in Illinois it's state law that window perf on vehicle windows must be laminated. We use optically clear lam on window perf installs, I just cant recall the brand.
  7. Avalanche rear window

I just heard that the 2nd window graphic we installed on a major client's rear window is again starting to peel. Material is Classic Vue window perf and installed on the removable rear window of a Chevy Avalanche. I don't remember what the laminate was. I can't recall ever having trouble with...
  8. Zund question

Wow, I completely forgot about posting this! Our G3 ended fitting fine, it installed about 3 weeks ago. Had to cut about 14" off the end of the gantry pole. Knocked down a wall and relocated another department to make room but it's in the perfect spot right next to the FB950.
  9. Zund question

We pulled the trigger on a G3 last week, looking to have it installed mid December. We're doing some building modifications to accommodate it and we may have hit a snag. Those of you that have one, how tall is your machine? We are getting the routing option which I think makes a difference. I...
  10. ColorSpan 72UVX - What to do with used unit?

I believe one of our equipment vendors found a buyer for our 98uvx when we bought the FB950. Somebody wanted something to run roll all the time, wasn't super concerned with quality. I wanna say we got $7-8k for it. It had plenty of new parts in it including the headboard and ran decent for the...
  11. Need help with Colorspan 72uvx

I found this guide to be quite helpful in dealing with the plentiful Colorspan vacuum issues. A couple pics in there though not close ups or anything http://bizsupport2.austin.hp.com/bc/docs/support/SupportManual/c01666249/c01666249.pdf
  12. Ink dropout

Mspec, you were indeed correct. After we discovered it would only lose heads after being paused, HP support realized that it was a slightly outdated firmware. They don't make it very known that it's available but it is. What's strange is that we've paused it occasionally over the 8-9 months...
  13. Ink dropout

Thanks for that info. I'll check out the latest firmware. Actually just had the dropout again, this time throwing error codes A-IS-143, 144, & 145. Both light inks disappeared but one of the errors is also the yellow, which remained. Just checked, we are running ver. 4.30. Most current version...
  14. Ink dropout

We've got a service call placed but I wanted to see if anybody here has also come across this issue. This is the second time we've seen this with our FB950, luckily this time it was attended to. Ran a prime bar immediately following the cancelled print and had absolutely nothing from black...
  15. FB950 paper skew

A little update, I ran out of the 42" stock and had to put on a 36" to finish the last 12 or so prints. Feeding like we have been, its feeding almost perfect. Even better than the 42". ...scratches head....
  16. FB950 paper skew

So far I'm having the best luck running it this way. Kinda redneck looking but it works.. Not using the takeup seems to help but what a PITA
  17. FB950 paper skew

Hmmm, may have to give that a try. I've quit using the first roller. It seems to run better going straight to the belt instead of over that first foam roller. Of course, this morning when I came in, all but cyan had dropped out. Still not sure how many it ruined...
  18. FB950 paper skew

I've got a large order for 102" signs that we are running on Sihl 3333 paper. Now the 950 usually walks a little on roll feed media but this stuff can barely make it through a couple prints before it's climbing off the edge. The print is 35" wide, we had to go to the 42" paper size and it's...
  19. HP Help/Parts Line TAKING FOREVER!!!

We waited a ridiculous amount of time for a new carriage drive motor on our 98UVX. I think we finally had to call our franchise rep and sic them on HP. Part showed up not long after. Northlight is an excellent source of parts and tech support. I really wanted to purchase our 950 from them.
  20. Interesting HP/Colorspan info

Hmmm, interesting. I thought the 950 was the first non colorspan HP even though a lot is similiar. I'll have to keep an eye out for these increased prices. River Wilde, I also had overspray issues with the cyan on our 98uvx. Made calibrating it tough at times. I could never figure out exactly...
