great thread. I am fed up with deco lit too. the smell is horrible!!! watson signs... I am going to try out your suggestion: Ultraflexx supersmooth PET blackout. Hopefully that will be a permanent replacement for me. just a side-note: I use two suppliers for my deco lit light block...
  2. Sick to death of Ferrari's BS

I have the same problem with this material. It's the only true stay flat I have found but the smell is atrocious... it's disgusting. How anyone can sell this to their clients and not have it returned due to the serious odour is beyond me. I had been told that they had dealt with the odour...

  10. Hit a brick wall with my refurbishing - Mutoh RJ6000

Flame... yes. I had to weigh the option of my time vs. money though. I've spent a lot of time in the past month just to get where I am. It seems it's taking a lot of my time and if I keep going and get into retrofitting heaters etc. It's just starting to add up to too much time...
  11. Hit a brick wall with my refurbishing - Mutoh RJ6000

So I think I might have to admit defeat on getting my Mutoh RJ6000 up and running for my business. The printer was converted to eco-solvent ink before I purchased it. The guy I bought it from had all the old parts that had been switched out... he replaced everything. The printer...
  12. Printing with Converted eco-solvent printer - no heaters

Question.... has anyone had any luck converting a pigment or AQ printer to eco-solvent and had success printing on uncoated media (vinyl and banner material)? I have a Mutoh RJ6000 that was converted to eco-solvent. But there are no heaters. The printer is operating very well with the...

hi, obviously if you read my recent post, you'll see I had the exact same problem. the root of the problem for me was with the dampers... try this and let me know if it works.... pull all your dampers (one at a time) and use a syringe to make sure ink is flowing through each one. re-install...

  15. Nozzle Check and Print Test coming out weird

I had a breakthrough night tonight.... I'm burning the candle at both ends trying to get this printer up and running (on my off-hours late night).... but I have made some great progress. I now have 'close to' perfectly aligned heads, and my test prints and nozzle checks are coming out pretty...

here's the nozzle check. I know its not aligned, I'm not there yet. Just trying to get it printing properly. where the black is, there is yellow firing underneath. so it would seem all inks are firing.... but this doesn't look right to me.
  17. Nozzle Check and Print Test coming out weird

I'm in the process of fixing up an old RJ6000 that has been converted to ecosolvent. I've got it to the point where I'm doing some preliminary test prints.... When I do a nozzle check I'm getting what looks like: M, C, K(overtop Y), LC, LM. When I do a test print... all that is...

  20. "cartridge None" error message

figured this one out. it was the ribbon that attaches to the motherboard for the cartridges.... When you open the box that contains the motherboard, the ribbon that attaches for the cartridges is very short, and when you swing the box open, it will disconnect from the board... you can't see it...
