  1. Shout out to Insignia Signs

Just used Mike and his company to print a wrap for us as we where booked up and they did a fantastic job. Great pricing, great quality and great turnaround. Highly recommend if you are looking for an outsourcing partner! Thanks, Kurt
  2. Signs 365 Likey Likey

I use them for all of our banners as well. Anyone use them for Print / cut stuff at all? Good bad or indifferent? Thanks, Kurt
  3. Vehicle Templates

Chris, We have used Digital Auto Library several times and have never had any issues, they are reputable as it gets with vehicle templates. If you really must take a dead on photo of each side of the vehicle and scaled it out in your program and do it that way, we do this all the time for harder...
  4. my gloss laminate has modelling on it!!!

We where getting tons of Avery laminate that had this issue. We just switched to Oracal and 3m and haven't had that problem. I would certainly contact your vendor and see how old that stuff is. Thanks, Kurt
  5. Arcade Logo

I fricken love your work! Nice job. Kurt
  6. Avery 105 or Arlon 6000X?

Stick with 3M, Oracal or Avery. These are the three that if installed properly and the right material is used for the job you will not have issues. Anything I have ever done with Arlon has failed and I am not the only one. I have had to replace several full and partial wraps and graphics that I...
  7. Two new vector-based, retro inspired wraps, and a question on solid color printing

Yes, color shift is horribly annoying, we too where able to correct it like the others above. And, we are in MI and would love to print and install them for you if they are somewhat close. Thanks, Kurt
  8. Wrap Design/Printing Question

Don't do it. In my past experience it has never worked well either. Try to print each body panel of the vehicle separate so you don't have seams at all is the best way to go. You can about get a seamless wrap on many vehicles, takes a little extra setup time but without having those nasty...
  9. A couple more

WOW! Very cool looking stuff!Nice job! Thanks, Kurt
  10. Looking for new printer at Baltimore Trade show

Cash, and HP Latex, hands down! Kurt
  11. Sprinter...yikes!

Why not just hire out the install? Typically if you are not efficient at something it makes more sense to delegate it to someone who is. Frees you up to keep working and typically gets the job done correctly as long as you find a good installer. Kurt
  12. I have to thank other sign shops for the following rant

You get what you pay for. If you want cheap you go to the local lowballer and you get crap from someone who shouldn't even be in the industry. You want good, you go to a reputable shop that doesn't have these issues. Problem is there are more of the first than 2nd... We always tell people we...
  13. Box Truck Wrap Issue?

What is 3195RA? I hope you mean 3951RA correct? Thanks, Kurt
  14. Oracal Peeling

I wouldn't say that is your bad, it is either the type of paint used of the fact that they used some cheap vinyl not meant for this application. Happens all too often! Now instead of saving money on this project they have to re-do it and eat the cost. Stupid! Kurt
  15. Box Truck Wrap Issue?

You must be pulling on the print, it isn't hard to pull on it and not know it doesn't take much. I'd be willing to bet that is the issue, as I had this back when I first started as well. Thanks, Kurt
  16. Anyone using HP latex printers for wraps?

According to Advantage Sign Supply it is a dealer wide promo. I talked to them today. They are located in GR and I buy most of my materials there so I might be looking to go thru them instead. Thanks, Kurt
  17. Anyone using HP latex printers for wraps?

WOW Mike, thanks for the heads-up on that! I certainly don't want to deal with anyone like that, doesn't do me any good. Too much of that going on now a days. I am going to demo one next week locally. Thanks, Kurt
  18. Some Recent Wrap Designs - Kickin' it old school; Simple & Clean

I agree with this 100%. I would say a good percentage of our customers are people or companies that had a wrap done by one of those "flames, rivets, diamond plate, bad type etc type shops looking for something much simpler and more effective. My favorite wraps to design are the ones that are all...
  19. Anyone using HP latex printers for wraps?

Cool! Good info. Got an email from Resource Imaging that the 60" model is $13,500 for the month of August. Thought was a pretty good deal. Kurt
  20. Anyone using HP latex printers for wraps?

Good to hear. How is maintenance? How about repairs, head replacement etc? Have you printed anything on banner materials? Kurt
