It wouldn't, but that's why I don't do it that way. However, I would think a double white really should have enough density. It's really odd that the rip would affect a flood like that.

I don't think I've ever designed with tight kerning, and went a bit nuts at the opportunity. I tend to become blind at various stages of the design process. Usually when I make a substantial change and don't walk away from it for a while.
I'm going to leave it alone for a while and come back to it, but as it stands this may be what I show to the customer. Perhaps I'm over or under thinking it, but I think the arrows imply "to & from".

Well, here it is!
Haven't tried it, but you could try laying some vinyl under the roll of vinyl along the sides on the platen to trick the printer eye as to where the media edges are. Tell the rip the roll is wider than 30", and then print the bleed onto the vinyl pieces you placed on the platen.
I know, right? I think a lot of people don't vote because there really isn't any talk of it on the radio or television. It's a good thing I happened to catch an ad on the radio this morning!
