  1. Looking for Gerber Solara Owners

Got a letter from Gerber today. They will stop manufacturing inks for the UV2 at the end of 2013.
  2. Vertigo sucks!

A few years ago I was having dizziness and balance issues. Family doc referred me to an ENT. They did lots of tests on me (including an MRI looking for a brain tumor) and finally diagnosed BPPV. ONE epley maneuver later and all was well for a month. I learned how to do the epley myself and...
  3. LT foils

Thanks for all the info guys! Shawn
  4. LT foils

Can anyone provide an opinion on the Gerber LT foils and heat transfer paper? Do you need a heat press to make the transfer or will a regular household iron work? How good is the quality when transfered onto a regular cotton t-shirt? Thanks, Shawn
  5. Corner Rounder

I have this one: http://www.abcoffice.com/cr50b.htm Not bought from here, just the first link to it I found. I cut 3mm DiBond and OmegaBond with the 1/2 radius die all the time. Works well on magnets too. Shawn
  6. LED backlit signs

Just saw this the other day, http://www.1000bulbs.com/LED-Fluorescent-Replacement-Tubes/ I don't think this uses the flourescent ballast.
  7. printing skip, miss

I started having a much nicer relationship with my Edge when I learned that trick.
  8. Gerber Odysey Contour Cutting?

Mine works with Onyx FWIW. Shawn
  9. how about this? start up programs?

I had a problem with Quicktime that de-selecting it in msconfig would not cure. It always started up. I eventually went to the .exe itself (qttask) and renamed it. No further problems. I strive to keep the system tray as clean as possible.
  10. Vista Sucks ? ! ? !

I look at it like this, needing newer and faster hardware to achieve the same or worse performance as XP, no deal here. Vista has bad fuel economy...LOL. Shawn
  11. New Workstation Suggestions

I got an Infinity workstation from Advantage Sign Supply. I am running Onyx on it though, you might not need as much machine. I am very happy with it. Shawn
  12. Looking for a program...

Sounds like something MS Access can handle. It's really not that hard to learn to use either. Shawn
  13. Drive Mirroring?

Sounds like you want multiple copies of your files. I'd suggest a network RAID system. RAID means Redundant Array of Independent Drives. You see it as only one drive but there are at least two. The data is mirrored on both drives and they are hot swappable. The third hit I got on...
  14. Design Station cost

Is it against the software license to just take the dongle home with you to another computer with Omega installed? Is this even an option for you? BTW, we bought a Solara and upgraded to 2.6, which cost us nothing, but we also got a copy of 2.6 LS (layout station) which I think was $995.00...
  15. Consumable??

Thanks everyone Well yes, but these are not shock absorbers that are being discussed, they are gas springs. Their function is to support the weight of the lid, not to provide a comfortable ride. The gas springs that hold the rear hatch on my car open are not consumable and are covered by...
  16. Consumable??

So the gas springs that hold the lid open on my Edge 2 have given up. Being an extended warranty type guy, I call and get told that these are consumables and will cost me $150 to replace. Am I crazy in thinking that these should NOT be considered consumables? Shawn
  17. Gerber Solara UV2

I purge my Solara once per day at the start of the day as a general practice, only have to re-purge due to a clog once or twice per week. I keep three or so towels in the purge tray and toss them once a week. I swab the heads twice per day, once after the purge and once at the end of the day...
  18. Gerber Solara UV2

The bulbs are $900 for the pair, not each. Shawn
