OK I have always pulled off the plasic sheet that protects the aluminums white surface and then cleaned the blank with alchohole then applied the vinyl does anyone pull off the plastic and just apply, am I wasting time I always figured safer is better but I am looking at a job that is a large number of blanks, I am wondering what others do.

I just do a lint free wipe

I have never in 20 years wiped those panels with alcohol. And have never had a failure. There is no reason to think the paint is dirty. It comes out of the powder spray booth oven right into the machine to get covered with the plastic.

I pull the plastic off as I apply the vinyl. Cleaning the surface only adds contaminants.
Same for Acrylic and Aluminum composite.
