I love to talk politics, but wish we could reserve it to the politics that directly impacts the sign business (taxes, regulation, benefits and so forth), which this doesn't. I choose whether or not to participate, so understand if you want to spend time on Signs 101 discussing politics, that's your decision, but surely there's hundreds if not thousands of boards to accomplish that.

Yes and hopefully it can be kept that way.

I hate when everyone falls along party lines... (Ie. the house/senate repubs all agreeing w/ Trump and all dems against Trump. I wish they could form their own opinion and not be afraid to go against the grain.

Point taken, just that I view Signs 101 as a nice break from the noise we get constantly. Would rather get in heated argument argue about latex vs. solvent. Just my naive wish, but I guess General chit chat the appropriate place to post that opinion.

Actually, this thread does impact upon the sign industry. Just the other day, someone was on here looking for ways to make signs for in the desert. Not too long ago, my wife was talking about a vacation. I don't think I'm gonna go over that way at the moment. I'm glad I read up on this stuff................ :toasting:

It's good Friday fodder. :supersmilie:

This isn't the typical partisan noise we get constantly in so many other places (like Facebook). Developments stemming from this escalating conflict could affect the sign industry if it gets really bad. Rising oil and steel prices would raise our materials costs. The sign industry is an advertising-related industry and advertising is one of the first industries that starts feeling it when the economy heads South.

A debate over Latex vs Solvent could go on in a few other sign industry specific sub-forums here at Signs 101. It doesn't really belong in the General Chit-Chat area.

If my military service taught me anything, it's that worrying about things I can't change is a waste of energy. I'm also happy that I'm no longer eligible for recall.

Not disturbed at all. Gave up watching media with an agenda. I choose to focus on friends, neighbors and clients in my little corner of the world. Friends and neighbors will help when asked and my clients put food on the table and a roof over my head. In the end that's all ya need.;)

Well, it is slightly related. Since oil has gone up an average of 4%, that will effect costs on MANY of the items we purchase for our signs. XD

Well I see the justification for it now. At 6am this morning I had no idea who this fella was... Now that we are all experts on the situation and have extensive knowledge thanks to Fox News and CNN, it sounds like we were right.

Think about it...............

When they bombed all the military installations around the globe, we basically did nothing. You know, turn the other cheek, we are better than them. He and others like him have been killing people around the globe for decades. We've done basically nothing. We put on a verbal show, but do nothing. Now, we've been knocking at their door and taking down the head people. They don't like it, but they still go after civilians. When Japan bombed us at Pearl Harbor, we retaliated within hours. We made the world safe again.... basically all around. Until these people realize we mean business, they will continue to strike at our weakest points and keep us fearful. I like putting the fear into them and that's just what we're doing.

If ya don't like it, I would imagine we'll still protect ya, even if you are against it.

More important information has been leaking out. CNN is reporting the President was eating ice cream during the airstrike. Guess Congress will have to amend their articles of impeachment now.

I personally don't watch CNN or Fox News; I think those channels along with MSNBC are outlets of what I call "anger pornography."

With that being said, other national news outlets online and broadcast network TV have been reporting the US administration had very credible intel that General Soleimani and others were planning imminent attacks. The drone strike was a direct response to the impending threat. If Iranian leadership wants to order retaliatory attacks they can expect more of the same from our military, if not even larger scale rocket and bombing strikes.

Now that sounds more like the Republican vs Democrat garbage that is off limits in the forum.
