Most of them have to do with spilled ink or wrong handling of internal cables: damaged, wrongly connected. Can you please share the possible reasons for electrical issues after replacing a print head.

Thanks that is exactly the problem. I’m not trying to bash anyone if I don’t have a true reason to. They sold me a print head and confirmed it was for my printer and turns out they were wrong in fact and they admitted it after they talked with mutoh. The problem is if I do a head swap like I did multiple times in Roland printers and Mimaki printers with no issues at all. The problem lays with they advertised something and it was incorrect and in return it cost me thousands of dollars to fix. Yes I am under pressure when you have a lot of customers waiting on their stuff and you have to explain to them what happened and start giving refunds or out sourcing printing. That gives a bad name to my business 100 percent and ruins trust with customers and I don’t like it. People can bash me on here all they want but if they were in the same situation they would do the same thing.
agreed, we have swapped out all flavors of DX7I still dont believe in any way that a wrong part numbered DX7 head had anything to do with frying something. The only possibility is that maybe the new replacement head (unlikely but defective new parts can happen) was defective in some way - just being the wrong part number will not fry anything, a wrong part numbered one just might not work as expected such as solvent ink might melt an aqueous manifold or it it might have gaps or distortion in printing due to encryption. The only way something gets fried replacing a head is either a defective part, ribbon cable damaged and shorted, ink leaked onto the heads board, static damages, or some other part was already fried.
That in itself was the problem... When you take on the task, you take on the liability too.Mar 16th - Firefighter tried unsuccessfully to change the head.
Started a fire and ran away.FireFighter, you started a Fire, where are you now??? Help.![]()

in the last several months, i bought a dx7 & i believe 3 dx4's
I'm dealing with this right now. Mutoh 1641sr. Printer was in complete working order except the magenta was toast. Ordered a new printhead from solventinkjet. Put that in, got halfway through a test print and got a head temp error. After that the whole machine shuts off went it starts to try and print. They recommended new cables. So I did cables and new fuses just to be sure. Same problem. Had a tech come by today and said everything is good, but the new print head is bad and tested new and old fuses and all were still good.Excuse me??? This printer worked 100 percent before the print head test unfortunately the head was missing nozzles and cleaning didn’t help so of course I ordered a new print head. Placed the new head in and hooked it up just like it was before and boom I got the head heat error. Honestly at this point I’m just worn out. When you have a printer and already behind and have to work your butt off to keep up you expect the head on their website to be correct I even confirmed it with them before purchase. The problem lays that I’m out thousands upon thousands in parts techs and down time. Yes I understand but when you leave them emails also their chat and a voicemail and they still don’t get to you it’s quite frustrating. Because now I have to sit until Monday just to hear back from them. I understand completely mistakes happen we are all human but if your going to advertise a head for this model printer and confirm it’s for that and then they send it to you and you install it because you think it’s the correct head and have this issue pop up where or fries your main board of course I’m going to be upset. I’m not a big shop I’m a one man operation and I think we both know some customers have zero patience’s. Their head was listed at 1800 now they are quoting me 3k. So that would be over 5k I spent this week in parts alone. If I screw up a customers job I can’t just tell them all well deal with it no I make it right and chaulk it up as a loss and make it learning experience.
