Having some good fonts helps a lot, especially ones you don't see around your town often.I just changed a couple to see if there was more impact.:beer

I'm not liking the way this sign industry is going ( no offence) I'am seeing more and more of these things on a daily basis that somebody with a computer thinks that they can be a designer on the side when they should be sticking with their own deal. But then again you can do pretty much anything you want it's a free country. It's just scary for all us professionals that don't have a sideline job to fall back on, when these type of cats are selling logo design for $25 or $50 and full vehicle wraps for $999. Maybe it's time for me to find a sideline, hmmmmm maybe porn would suit me...

As long as I can remember, any landscape in the US even some historic districts are littered with offensive to the eyes type of work Unless you are in some upper class part of the country I don't see it changing.Even before computers were around there were less than proficient lettering artist around.(no offende to the OP.

On the logos I showed, it seems you Frankensteined parts into another. For what reason? Now since you have no graphics training it can't be for that reason and ornamentation may not be a solution for adjusting a logo. You have 5 sketches that might be more interesting than what you have done.

The logos I show are very low concept, one reason is you give little information up, so I leaned toward the ATV market... it would be a waste to deal with RC unless you are going to do it for the gig guys and since you are not a graphic designer I ignored that part.

I used the star as a source of power, it is widely used in ATV/MX and is an element that denotes strength. Some of the fatter text is used in that type of graphic design, the other type might appeal to a wider clientele. You adding a text box does nothing but break up a shape that is already broken up by the top stars. adding a star between the numbers breaks up the visual 3... not a rule, but a general element of balance between shapes.

I presented that shape before and thought it would work on this logo, the fat orange numbers also. But thought was put into adding elements to compliment the concept behind it... this logo would be a harder logo to design.. for me at least.

since Rick has started some of the critique I felt was needed, I will follow with my first thought... along the lines of Ricks comments, a star can work between 4 and 13... OR as a design element, such as a cluster of 3 stars... one or the other can work... both does not work IMO...

and unless you plan to take up Ricks offer to contribute $50 to becoming a premium member, in exchange for ONE of his designs, I think you ought to re-define the line between drawing inspiration from someone else's work, vs. direct copies of several exact panel shapes, star clusters & typesetting solutions... you might as well just copy one & have it look great, instead of copying 3 & fouling it up...
