how to draw ovals

:ROFLMAO:Can I ask some of the newbies what the didfference is between an oval and an elipse?? [sic] Bet that google is now running overtime!! Or can they tell me if the Ford logo is actually an oval or an elipse?? School has started!
Ellipse - "A closed plane curve resulting from the intersection of a circular cone and a plane cutting completely through it."
Oval - "A closed plane curve resulting from the intersection of a circular cone and a plane cutting completely through it."

An ellipse is NOT a stretched out circle. The Ford Oval is technically an ellipse.

Before computers the best way I could draw the shape correctly was by drawing ¼ of it and then cutting it out or using a pounce pattern and turning it around for the other 3 sections.The 3 nails and string method still did not git it right.
