Is there a way to score the liner for decals?

I've see it done on labels in the old days, its called "Kiss Cutting" you put a blade strip on a letterpress machine and set it so it just "kisses" the back of the label and leave a score without cutting into the label. Takes a good letterpress to do it

I'm running 1,000 4x11" decals. I'm using my HP Latex to run the decals on a 54" wide roll. I find it kind of hard to peel off the decal from the liner. I'm just wondering if anyone has tried turning the sheet of label with liner face up and scored the back of the liner on a Summa cutter? Or is there another way to cut/score the liner so it's easier for the decal to peel off?
What I do is set the file to be 4.5" x 11.5", then die cut to that exact size 4x11, after die cutting, I remove the "waste vinyl", leaving the cut stickers on the liner, than trim them at the center of each decal.... problem solved, easy to peel off.

Piece of cake to do back slits on a flatbed. It’s possible on a roll cutter but glossy decals get scratched as the vinyl travels through the cutter face down. You can rotate the decals so the back slits are on the x axis to minimize travel. You could apply some kind of felt to the cutter to prevent scratching but it would was never worth it for us.
