not a good day
first my vp540 is printing a shadow (posted a thread earlier with no response as of yet)
and now my sp300v is not printing yellow
i put a new cartrigde in and did 2 powerfull cleanings
and still my test print comes out with little or no yellow
it actually looks like the magenta is running into the yellow

check your yellow cartridge. You may have a magenta cartridge listed as yellow. This happened to a friend of mine.
I hope thats not the case. But gotta check it.

when my printer was doing that the heads had to be replace it was like a 18 months ago

If you have a bad cap and one cartridge completely runs dry, at times this will allow the empty cartridge to siphon from the full cartridge.
Put in a new cartridge and cap, then use a syringe (or pwr clean) to pull fresh ink till you get the proper color back. I like to use the syringe method as this doesn't waste a lot ink like the pwr clean option. NOTE: If you see air bubbles in the syringe as you pull ink then you have an air leak someplace else, check the damper and ink line connections.
