Customer: " WHAT? The job is only $250.00."

Me: "And when you come back with the drawing and apporval you not only get the sign BUT you'll get cash back." (said with a winning smile)

We go look at the car, it's a 1980 Chevy POS that they think is cool, and the colors HAVE to match, and they are anal that we sit down and design together. I tell them it's probably going to be about $150 minimum by the time it's done. They normally tell me they have a brother that might want one too, just a little different.

I send them up the road to the guy that works for free normally and tell them I only do business vehicles.

I get that from a hugely overpriced graphic artist all the time, "you don't use CS5, what kind of sign shop do you run". Like it's a prerequisite or something. I feel like saying I don't use CS5 cause you already fleeced them and now they want a deal cause they can't afford to make the sign.
