Here’s something that is really burning me up.
Last Monday, got out a Christmas Tree that we bought last year, yeah a fake tree, but it looks neat. Set it up with some other lights and stuff, here at the shop. Wanna look a little festive. It has fiber-optic type lighting, balls and a star on top. Well it stayed lit for a while and then I noticed… it wasn’t lighting up. So, I took the adaptor into Radio Shack last week and the guy matched up a new power supply for me. Got back and plugged it in and everything worked fine. Noticed Friday it wasn’t lit again, so I called Radio Shack on the phone and found out I could return it to any Radio Shack with the sales receipt. So, last night I went to the Radio Shack down where I live cause of errands and stops I had to make. This time I took the base with me.
Got there and some young snot-nosed kid tried to give me all kinds of excuses for everything, cept he found out he was wrong on every count. Anyway, he plugs in the new adaptor and told me the old one was wrong. Okay, so hook me up. He finally plugged it in and… presto, nuthin’. I asked him if the bulb could be bad ?? Got one of those and plugged it in and again….. nuthin’. Then he got his cohort involved who did seem to have some electrical experience and knowledge. He at least used the terms polarity and AC vs DC in the same sentence. So, turns out that my tree worked for a while with their adaptor, but their power pack must’ve burned out my motor and light, since they originally gave me the wrong one. Both of them said Radio Shack would be responsible for replacing what I have. Get the number of the regional overseer and he won’t return any of my calls….. YET. In my opinion, I can’t replace the tree and Christmas is around the corner. What would you do ?? Just wait for Doug Solt to call me and then give me some lip about how it will have to go through proper channels until they give me permission to purchase a tree, which is only a year old ?? OR…… just get one and demand replacement costs ??
We’ll miss having a tree this year at the shop. It will be the first time, since we started it at the shop about 15 or so years ago. Just ticks me off.
