Stop the Skateboarders

Drip Dry

New Member
My customer has this railing and is having a problem with skateboarders riding
the top rail as well as people chaining bikes to it.

They want me to attach some signs on it to stop the problem.

Any ideas ??

just drill some holes. Tap em for 1/4 20 bolts.
Screw some 1/2 in long 1/4 in bolts into the holes..

Done!

OR jb weld broken glass shards on top.

+1 on the BOOOOOOOO!!!

And your problem isn't the rail it's the painted curb. If it's the rail that's one high ollie - then I say let M' skate.
See pic.
The painted surface becomes smooth making it easy to slide on.
No need for wax.
You could put a sign up that says No Bicycles No Skateboarding.
Collect the money and go because within a few days the sign will be tagged you might not see a bike but they'll still be skating.

I am thinking along the lines of that non slip material for your bathtub / shower floor.
Put that on to rail and the skateboarders will find a new meaning for the word Grind...

Well I gotta say if a skateboarder is hitting that rail... I want to see video because that would be epic. I struggle picturing it...

Build a bowl.

+1 (and I never skateboarded a day in my life.)

If this is a problem for your customer, it's likely a problem for all of the businesses in that area. Signs won't solve the problem. I would suggest bringing local business owners together (maybe there is an existing organization - like a downtown merchants association) to build a local skate park.
