US Tariffs, Sigh!

Its as easy as clicking my name and you'll see every post I've made in this thread, takes 5 seconds.

You guys love to spout nonsense and accuse others of doing what you're literally doing in your sentence. I personally don't care if you believe me or not, but it's very hippocritical the way you're acting. You talk about posting random nonsense or stuff you've heard with no evidence to back it up... Then go and do the same thing.

All it takes is 5 minutes to read my posts, find something I said that'd not true, or a rumor.. if you do, it'll shut me up and you'll never have to see me post in here. That'll save a lot more time than it'll take you to find something, no?

But you won't. Just like geneva... Ask for evidence, get it posted, then completely shut up about the topic and move onto some other nonsensical topic.

So keep spouting you're nonsense, throw around accusations without a single shred of proof or evidence to back it up... If it's good enough for your president, I guess it's good enough for you.

I didn't even need to read your whole essay. When talking to another person, it is not very nice to TELL them how to act, call them names or even put words in their mouth.

I'm not even gonna waste 5 minutes looking up old sh!t I already know is mostly nonsense.

I did not say every single word or sentence was wrong, just most of it.

By your insistence on calling me names, not just here..... but various threads, you've just about alienated you and me. I remember many things and keep it as ammunition for future reference, but not you. You seem to get all heated under the collar and blow up when someone is trying to defuse the situation. You need to take a vacation, cool down and come back with your batteries recharged.

Imagine..... grown men & women writing a book, then someone wants you to go back and read it again. I knew it was coppola then..... and I still know its coppola.

Buddy, I quit arguing with you because you refuse to look at any evidence I posted. not because you thought you were right.

Again... You must be confusing me with the other poster. You asked me for evidence, I posted evidence, The topic changed. I never asked you for evidence on anything.... I never said you're wrong about this, and had you provide a link, or a news article or anything... Show me one, just one example where you provided me any sort of evidence that I ignored.

Hope you don't pull a Gino and say you don't care / have time to look it through! Genuinely interested in even one time you felt like I did that.

And if you'd like me to spend 5 minutes tonight to go back, and back up my opinion that you change the topic once something is proven, Ill gladly do it.

Ya know, other than Geneva, all the stuff the rest of you are saying is what you heard from some unknown source, through the grapevine or are just making up. Just my opinion, but just go over the crap most of you copied and pasted into this thread. Hardly a single owned thought anywhere.
Thanks for the laugh. Geneva used a meme she saw as a source in one of her posts....

I also posted articles defending myself, but you have picked and chosen what I post because apparently what I say bothers you. If you don't like me, you can block me. You don't have to be condescending and rude.

and if the meme fits...wear it.

tariffs aren't taxes. If I go to walmart and see 2 of the same products in front of me. one is higher because of tariffs, i can now choose.
The definition of Tariff is a tax. I know I'm preaching to death ears, but go look in any dictionary and it'll say it's a tax... It's literally the definition. If you want to play semantics... It's a tax on the company doing the importing... But who really pays that tax? Not the company... the consumer.

Goto any store, look at any TV...and find one that doesn't have a chinese chip in it. EVERY TV and electronic is going to pretty much have a tarrif... So all TV's in USA will be going up, So you can look at 2 products infront of you... and watch as both products go up 5-10% because theres zero American made TV's.... Call it a tarrif, a Tax, whatever you want to call it... It's not something you're going to be able to escape.

https://www.trade.gov/import-tariffs-fees-overview-and-resources - Official US government trading website...definiing it as a tax.

A tariff or duty (the words are used interchangeably) is a tax levied by governments on the value including freight and insurance of imported products

https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/tariff - The merriam webster dictionary, showing the literal definition of it is a tax... But I guess they could be lying as well.

a
: a list of taxes placed by a government on imported or in some countries exported goods
b
: a tax or rate of tax set up in a tariff list

2
: a list of rates or charges of a business or public service company

I import stuff from China, guess who customs sends the bill once items arrive? I get the bill.

Here is an actual tariff/tax bill, this is before the new tariffs

Next shipment I'm guessing the tax will double/triple? Scary ordering not knowing how much $$$ the government will want to release the shipment. Definitely not China paying it, all getting passed down to the consumer

Over $5000 in taxes on $38k import, again this was before the new tariffs

As an Australian, I find the confusion on who pays taxes baffling. Fortunately, we in the trade Don't buy much at all from the US. So we don't get affected by the shenanigans going on over there.
But. A tarrif is a TAX paid by the consumer, not the country of origin.
The US has put tarrifs on our beef, so China is now buying more than the USA did. So, I honestly don't see the the endgame that your current leadership has in mind.
Unless it is stock manipulation.
But, that is just my view from down under.
I wish everyone the best.

I'm sure you will still be able to get it. Just a bit more painful on the wallet.
By the way, our PM is not applying reciprocal tarrifs. We had a free trade agreement. But. Oh well.
So, I just don't get it.
If the stuff we export isn't necessary, why do people buy it?
It's a blatant Tax on the American people in my humble view.

There's no adults or professionals this time around, so it's all sharpies and concepts of plans. We're as confused as everyone else.
Well, hopefully you guys will be great again soon.
And I still don't know how that is measured. I thought you guys were fine before. Mind you, this is from outside looking in.
And I'm still trying to find out what "woke" means ( our conservative parties use it all the time, and still can't tell us what it means) and how it makes countries not great..
The world has turned rapidly into a very confusing place.

For those who need proof, just consider me stubborn and set in my ways. For those who don't give a rat's a$$, get real. Ya really think I'm gonna go back and regurgitate all the crap everyone is writing ??

If ya don't like what's happening, get another line of work or shut up. These minuscule rants aren't gonna solve a single thing, except just separate everyone even further on this forum.
Genuine question from someone with no skin in the game.
Gino, do you see these tarrifs making America better?
Are you OK with the results that have happened in a short term?
And can America quickly step up to replace all the things that have suddenly became a lot more expensive?
I am Genuine. I have no stake at all. It's just very confusing for an outsider.
Cheers!
