Wireless router thief

PLEASE HELP!!!!

There is someone that has been riding my wireless router and I can't figure out how to get them off! It's a linksys router, I've looked everywhere in linksys and I can't a place to remove the freeloader. There doesn't seem to be too many options and I've looked through them all and just can't seem to figure it out. It's been messing with my signal strength it appears as well.

Go into the settings of the router and use wep security.

Set up a password, and in the advance setting you can even list the mac addresses to be used, if theirs is not listed they can't connect.

Thanks everyone. I reset a password and set-up encryption. It appears there where 3 users! It still has them listed but they are no longer on line. I just wish I had a way to get there stinkin names off my list of users. I'm sure they are going to be working overtime to get back on the gravytrain here.

Is there a router I can purchase that is not wireless? I'm not using a wireless here and don't need it. That would give me complete peace.
I couldn't find one when I purchased this one.

You should be able to turn it off on the administrator page.

Connect directly to the cable modem.

Yea, lots of options here...use google, plenty out there will walk you through what you are trying to do. At work, we make you have the MAC address entered, as well as an encryped password that's so goofy, I have to log into the router to see what it is. At home, I just have it set so that you have to have the MAC address. You may be able to see it, but you can't connect to it.

WEP keys can be broken.

If you allow them back on, you can get the device name and maybe browse any network file shares they have.

Turn off SSID and assign all IP address to your computers cards mac address!

I have wireless in our shop and know for a fact people use it. We are downtown, next to offices and a theater. Who cares, it is not costing me anything for them to use. In fact some mornings we are logged onto an office down the street's network, not on purpose.
I like to speard the wealth.

ya mosh,, i wish i was right next door to you.. I could "spread the wealth" and down lots of songs, movies, and some porn too. Then I would run my peer 2 peer server and really spread some wealth.

Then I would set up my very own email server and spam millions of emails a day all on your system. Then, when the ISP get pissed you lose your connection..

there is a weird little apartment down stairs kinda at our shop(weird building layout, hard to explain)...i know the tenants use the shop wireless, but cant bring myself to shut em out...i think they are pretty broke.

if they keep smoking in their garage (under our art supply store) and making it smell like an ashtray by the oil paints i'll do it though, in fine passive agressive fashion..haha. :ROFLMAO:

FYI: open wireless router on your network = easy access to your computer.

A few tools that any script kiddie has could be BIG issues.
