  1. font id please

No kidding... Yesterday I found a site (it may have been fonts.com) that has a find-fonts-by-sight feature. They hit you with a bunch of questions, and it's supposed to return what you want. Unfortunately it didn't work for me this time. Thanks for your help everyone!:U Rock:
  2. font id please

Can anyone ID this font please? The closest I could find was "Alexa", but the letters seem too thin, and the O is open at the top.
  3. cutting from x3?

I finally figured it out. I have been using my plotter in HP-GL mode. In order to use it with the new drivers and Corel, I had to switch the command setting over to GP-GL. After that, I had no problems with cutting. Techman - I didn't pay big bucks for fancy software only to cut from it...
  4. cutting from x3?

ok, so maybe you guys rock, but I don't. I installed the driver... I can select the 3000MK2 as my "printer". It pulls up the controller. I can plot a test triangle... but when I hit cut, I can hear the plotter spool up and then goes silent. The screen says HPGL Error 1. So, I'm close...
  5. cutting from x3?

Awesome! I'll give it a shot now. Thanks a lot :U Rock:
  6. cutting from x3?

Does anyone know if there's a way to cut directly from CorelDraw X3 yet? My graphtec package came with Flexi-starter - and it came with a corel-plugin, but it pre-dates Corel X3, so its not suprise that its incompatable. Flexi-starter is too basic for designing anything - so I have to use...

Contour did it. Thanks everyone!:U Rock:
  8. How to offset or create even outline.

I'm trying to figure out how to outline something in Corel X3. In Autocad, it would be the offset command. Take a look at my example. The desired result is an outline - with an even width around the rectangle. The "bad" was a copy/paste + hold shift while stretching a corner. The "good" was...
  9. Do you have a graphics Degree?

Not exactly a graphics degree but... BSEE. Classes in AutoCAD and Solidworks is as close as I got to graphics education.
  10. the best mouse for graphics

I'm relatively new to the signmaking world - but I've been using AutoCAD and various 3D modelling packages for 15 years or so. Personally, I love trackballs - specifically the Logitech trackman marble. But maybe its out of necessity; I normally have so much crap piled on my desk that there's...

  14. Another new part-timer guy.

Hi, I'm JJ - and I'm a noob to the forum and to the biz. I'm just doing this on the side, but we'll see where it goes. Like many others, I'm just getting started out with vinyl cutting. I just picked up a Graphtec CE3000MkII. It came with "Flexi starter", and I purchaed Corel X3 to go...
