  1. Screw you 3M.

Our company managed to drop ALL 3M product about 3days after this thread started. On top of that all 20 of the people who work with me have stopped or limited their personal use of anything made by 3M. Whe do a few trade show displays a year for one local government operation and they were...
  2. Application to bug guard?

They are not to bad to wrap, start in the middle and work toward the ends. Make sure to post heat... just don't melt anything.
  3. Best way to cut dibond AFTER installing vinyl?

Plus 1 We do this and use a very fine tooth blade in our circular saw. We just got a sawtrax panel saw and plan to do the same with it.
  4. Reducing Inventory?

We "try" to stick to a similar line up... It just seems like we always get some kind of odd job where we have to order other rolls and then they just pile up again. I would add a roll of Phototex into your lineup.
  5. 3M IJ40C installation...

I have used this on trailers and it worked great. I have used 8918 and 8919 as well as some of the Feller's Lamex cast. All seemed to install the same and have only ever had minor issues with any of them. However... with 3M's new reputation I no longer use it. But it was nice to work with...
  6. Help please : How to wrap edge of wing. Image Included

Not sure if you did this or not, but remove the wing from the car and things should go much easier. Just noticed in the pic that the wing is on the car. Should only be a few nuts and/or bolts and off it will come.
  7. Screw you 3M.

we actually used the 293. I check on this customer about every 4 months and always check for anything going on with the wrap and I have not noticed any shrinkage or peeling to date. I'm about to start using it a lot more now that we are dumping the IJ35c. I always liked it but I got a better...
  8. Screw you 3M.

I guess I was just getting in the graphics business when Avery had their problems. I missed all the reasons not to use them. I have used many of their products since I have been in the decision making position at my current company. I love 1005sc with the 1460 laminate for wraps mainly since I...
  9. Screw you 3M.

Any chance of this write up going on a separate thread??? Just thinking that anyone coming across this my be intimidated by 19 pages. Maybe a new thread summarizing this one and with a link to this thread on the opening post. I just don't want anyone to miss this because they don't want to read...
  10. Screw you 3M.

Josh... Get the GTR, just don't get to close to table with the pictures of horribly wrapped cars on it. Then drive it to SGIA in Vegas and let me give it a good road test... Ok maybe at least let me stare at it for a few hours while your in the convention. I love nissans. My first car was a...
  11. Screw you 3M.

I just found out today that we are possibly loosing a 20-30k job of fleet graphics to this program. We have been working on getting in with a local heating/cooling, plumbing, and electrical company who has a fleet of about 65-70 vehicles. Our quote was for 40 various vehicles to have old vinyl...
  12. Play the kerning game

    Did better than I thought I would:signs101:
  13. Screw you 3M.

Did you get a chance to ask him anything about the OW situation?
  14. Screw you 3M.

I'm doing my best to completly remove 3m from all aspects... Just today I needed to buy some electrical tape and almost the whole isle at lowes was scotch brand. What I got may not be as good, some generic off brand, but it's not supporting 3m so that makes me feel better.
  15. Screw you 3M.

Just want to say thank you to Lisa from oracal! She saw my post earlier in this thread about my sales reps not ever getting me a sample of 3751 and she sent me a pm and got our address and a roll shipped out today. She also sent a roll of 290 laminate. Can't wait to try them out!
  16. Screw you 3M.

The right thing!:clapping: I had kind of heard of this through one of our customers who bought a fleet of trucks and had the graphics done through the dealership. I didn't know that 3m was behind it though. I recognized they are using the old crosshatched 180c and figured they got it subbed out...
  17. Screw you 3M.

I have been considering the new 3751ra. Havn't been able to get a sample of it yet though... My fellers rep keeps changing and they never seem to get samples anymore...
  18. Screw you 3M.

I never have been a big 3m fan... We used a lot of ij35c and ij40c over the past few years though. Maybe 10-15 rolls a month of the ij35c and 4 rolls a month of ij40c. Customers like it because they are well known, but evyone also knows Avery from all their label products. We used several rolls...
  19. Cut Vinyl vs. Printed Vinyl

I would normally say cut vinyl. However, we have a few printed graphics on our building that are in direct sunlight from about 11 am until dark. They have been up for roughly 5 years now and really seem to be holding up well. They are actually on material that is only warranted for about 6...
  20. 60"+ perforated vinyl?

Anyone know where to find perf wider than 60"? Got a customer with 62" wide windows and I really don't want to piece it together. Checked fellers, grimco, and signwarehouse. 60" was the widest they had.
