We use quite a bit of the 40c Controltak. Have to be careful because it can be confused somewhat after laminating. Operators have to realize our matte 3m controltak is the 40 & the glossy controltak is the 180.

We would print and laminate digital. Not sure if that works for you though.

Can always go with Avery 2921. Air egress...white back...removable. Good stuff.

We use Wagner's suggestion of the white strip all the time. The optically clear we use has a frosted backer and the Graphtec does't like it much. Always have to use the white strip in that case.

Use a 2 or 3 inch core to roll/peel the masking off. Comes off consistently without leaving lines or streaks. Wiping with Iso 90% and buffing with a microfiber rag helps if you get in a pinch as well.
