We dont get a lot of banding on our PV 200. We're typically running our heads .060 or .055 to the media. I think that helps us out with the banding issue because the angle the ink lands and sticks makes a big difference. May want to try lowering your carriage some and adjusting the Bi-dir...

Was having some banding issues....talked to Sign Supply USA today and they suggested downloading and installing the latest firmware on my printer. Low and behold....IT WORKED! Much better printing with it...wow. I was surprised! Just wanted to let fellow Roland Owners out there know.

Filemaker PRO is awesome. I use it for job tickets and its infinitely adjustable and customizable.

Lyson has always had a good record with the Larger printers...they make the 2000 series for Rolands as well.

Ive gotten the brand that Fathead uses...it SUCKS. General Formulations is the better brand, but it still curls some. Looking into that plastiprint now...I always had good results with the static clings from them.

Heres another question to throw out there....anyone using the ESM White Ink??

Is there a way to Adjust the Max INK levels in the stock or downloaded profiles without re-profiling the materials on your own??? Ive messed with heat settings and still get a 'wet-banding' where the passes meet. Im definitely overloading on Ink. This is an across-the-board media issue right...

Austin...im really giving some thought to the Durafos inks. Talked to the reps today...but have a local rep for Bordeaux as well. Quite intersting conversations and very informative.

tried cleaning with the swabs yet??

did you do a test pattern to see if they're firing straight or off at angles??

I read up on it and its something Im seeming to need. Picked one up online for under 300 now and will be messing with it this week.

any dust or fuzz on the heads??

Im still considering the Bordeax deal. A supplier I trust is selling it...so Im probably going to give it a shot. I will check with the place that sold the Roland printer I bought it off of as well to see what they have to say.

hahahah....actually I did the 64 bit due to RAM and being able to utilize upward of 4gigs of it!. I wanted to throw as much ram as I could at my rip and apps. Also using dual core, dual Xeon processors in this thing...it does sing to say the least. Look into http://moojohn.com/signs John has...

If profiling is your only problem....thats not a huge issue for me. I have the ability to profile in house. I wonder how these different inks can affect the jets and systems involved. most warranty against ink delivery issues or headpack problems. But does roland or a roland tech have the...

Was wondering....I have Colorburst Rip that offers the FJ-540 as an option. Would that drive the XC 540 well?? It gives me 360x720 up to 1440x1440 res. along with print and cut options. Any thoughts??

Im rethinking with Bordeaux and Triangle possibly. Both come highly recommended.
