Does anybody know what the font is being used for the players name on the attached photo? I know its something easy and I'm gonna kick myself when I find out what it is, but my brain is failing me at the moment.... Any help?
If you want to factor technical support into this, I would go with a Suma. Graphtec's support is terrible. Great machines but they definitely lack in the customer service dept. I've never used a Suma but I've heard and read that they are great machines and that their tech support is stellar...
I cut gloss all day long with no problems. I've heard that some do however, and the solution was to take a scotch bright pad, or some sand paper and rough up the registration marks a bit to dull them down.
Make sure your cut line is a spot color named CutContour, in preflight on the first tab at the bottom there is a pull down menu to select the cutter you will be using. If the file has the spot CutContour in it, and you select the correct cutter in preflight it will output your cut file to Cut...
It also helps if you lock or turn off the layer of the art/image you are wanting to contour cut. Locking prevents you from accidentally working on the wrong layer. Naming your layers is also helpful so you can see what is what.
Create a new layer, and copy the shapes to the new layer. Use the weld tool in pathfinder to make them one piece. Remove the fill, and set your CutContour spot color to the stroke. There's your cut line.
in Illy: Object< Path< Offset Path. Either a tad outside, or inside (negative) depending on what exactly I need to cut. And just for reference, I use the exact same equipment you do.
