    Well the printer is a computer if you think about it, how many times do you reboot your computer each day? Heck, I even have to reboot my Blackberry once or twice a day. I would just thank the gremlins for not hurting the printer and forget about it.

    scrim is the weave. I think there was something on the banner before printing, those don't look like head strikes to me. Can you take a closer pic? If it were a head strike there would be ink in the "white" but there is not.

    On second thought it could also be that there was something on the banner before printing, is that the only spot?

    Was there a buckle there? It looks like the heads may need to be cleaned, see if there is any "fur" around the heads.

    Once you get over the learning curve, you should be down to 0-5%. I won't post ours since I, like SignosaurusRex will not jinx myself ;-) Make sure you keep it slow till you are comfortable with it, then speed it up.
