  3. Seal 62 Pro Laminator

We had an old laminator left in our shop we were trying to salvage, but it was unsalvageable. When we opened it up they disabled the eye by removing the "receiver" from one side of the machine, moving it to the other side, then clipping it directly to the laser "permanently" with a binder clip...
  4. How much for that HP L25500 in your sign shop?

Not to sound like a jackass either, but in our neck of the woods, a statement like that eliminates you from about 80% of our customer base, which REQUIRE us to be green certified. That's one of the major reasons we bought our LX 800 (in addition to the fact it prints beautifully on a wide range...

  11. Thoughts?

Addy, this is very smart. Do you think you could also refrain from providing feedback when other people ask for opinions on their logo designs? Not sayin you don't contribute to other discussions, but I think it's best to leave the design criticism to others. Oh, and I hope you get lots of...
  12. customer wants .pdf what would you do?

It might be different in the sign industry with different expectations, but I've been a designer for nearly 20 years and whenever I have been paid for a design and someone asks for the artwork files I give em to em. I can see ya'alls point though, as you make most of your money from producing...

  16. Ghost flames?

whatever you do, i would try and print some sort of subtle shadow effect or slight color shift. if you just cut out a frosted material or similar and apply it'll look flat and tacky.
  17. Just wrapped my tahoe

I too, can't get past the name. Every single time I read "hugh" and then yeah, I figure out it says "hygh" but dang, that is the weirdest misspelling I've ever seen. I seriously think the name of your company could potentially be a detriment, but you said you aren't gonna change it so no use...

  19. Illustrator file gradient issues

Glad you got yours fixed, we will be switching to Caldera in about 2 weeks. Tried every workaround possible, and came to the conclusion onyx w/ our HP printers just don't do gradients well. Should have listened to Merritt when advised to use Caldera prior to making our printing purchases.
