  1. First trailer wrap!!

looks good. I like how you handled the graphic transitions on the front corners, nice detail.
  2. A couple of my first wraps

You tend to use a lot of outlines on your type, I think simpler would be better.
  3. Chip & Dale.......................

I agree, it's pretty F'ed up this method. I mean, if you think you HAVE to do it that's one thing, but why suggest it as successful to everyone else on the web? Do your business and live with it, to each their own. It's weird to me you found it necessary to share this on a sign forum.
  4. Illustrator file gradient issues

yup. i actually posted that above.
  5. Illustrator file gradient issues

    yup.
  6. Illustrator file gradient issues

Just bumping this thread again. We have continued to struggle with certain gradients on both of our brand new HP printers, with no resolution offered by HP, Onyx, or our reseller to eliminate banding. So we finally downloaded a trial version of Caldera and got it connected to our printers, ran a...
  7. UV ink smell

We have an FB, and haven't noticed any smell at all, though I never really sniffed em up close. You don't even have to vent them.
  8. HP Scitex Flatbed Printers!

We also have an fb700. Like any equipment, it has plusses and minuses. Feel free to contact me for more detail, happy to share our experiences.
  9. Fellers Escalade/"Sharpie" Lamberghini

I was wondering...I saw a photo of this beautiful sculpture, I think it is called "David"? It's big and beautiful...does anyone know how I can make something like that? Of course this is somewhat in jest...but cmon! These is no "easy" way to do that kind of stuff!
  10. HP Latex LX600 or LX800 - new inks?

We actually have already been doing double sided on our lx, through some workarounds. Just curious how much the new features/inks actually add and if its worth it to be an early adopter....
  11. HP Latex LX600 or LX800 - new inks?

Just curious if any of you LX600 or LX800 owners have made the switchover to the new ink formulations yet? I heard the new inks are supposed to be more durable, and come along with a new option for double sided printing but curious if anyone has made the change and how much your profiles...
  12. what do you hate about your software?

Wait, whatever happened to Freehand? Oh...that's right, Adobe bought them out. This thread made me have a flashback of my Old Freehand VS Illustrator arguments I'd have with a good friend....
  13. what do you hate about your software?

Oh, oh..can I jump in? An artboard is totally different than a page. A "page" implies a single printed page. Be it finished dimensions of a standard letterhead, custom sized catalog or brochure, or even a banner. An "artboard" however is the ENTIRE area you are drawing on. An artboard may have...
  14. what do you hate about your software?

a GREAT plug in for illustrator i couldn't work without it, and this crowd especially should appreciate the Hot Door Cad Tools plug-in for illustrator. it gives basic cad measurement, drawing, and scaling abilities to illustrator. Nothing better for designing your POP or huge displays/graphics...
  15. what do you hate about your software?

yup yes, no need to release mask to edit contents. You can also double click the mask to enter isolation mode and edit, or use hollow pointer tool to select masked object and edit that way. CS5 dramatically changed mask behavior, not sold it's for the better but i've adjusted to it....
  16. Looking for vehicle wrap designer

We do wrap designs all the time, but sometimes fees are close to amount of the wrap itself. Feel free to pm if interested...
  17. HP FB500: Anyone Have one

We have an FB700 (same as 500, only bigger), and are overall very happy with it. Print quality is outstanding, though it's not the speediest machine and is slower than other machines we've used before breaking out on our own (vuteks, Durst). A few things to watch out for though...if you are...
  18. what do you hate about your software?

Gypsy, Couldn't you Make a box or shape with said color, and then do a "select same" fill color? COme to think of it, that might not work with a color in a linked file. Worth a shot tho.
