  1. "Cutting Matt"

What you're using now, if it resembles plastic, it's probably a sheet of polycarbonate. They actually work pretty good, come in a variety of thickness, clear, white, etc... Used to use them because we stocked sheets for sign faces, but I went back to the regular cutting mats again. You can get...
  2. Best way to re-do this wrap

I kinda had the same thought as Gino, use a blue like in their logo, then put some random windows on it like they want.... Then class it up a bit, **"Gino style" **Artist will neither confirm nor deny that a touch of bourbon was a factor in this... Personally I'd suggest doing the sides...
  3. Frosted Glass Vinyl for Race Stripes?

There's a bunch of ways. I normally use 3M 2080 matte wrap film in a color that closely matches, or just contrasts the color. You could also go with a matte/ ultra matte paint protection film, they're transparent, and just changes the sheen where you stripe it like frosted would, very subtle...
  4. Need Help Laminating ACM/Max Metal

This 100% ^^^^^ If you don't fix the adhesion problem, you'll always have a problem, and it's better to figure it out before you hand a customer something that'll fail. Some have good luck routing after, some don't. I always routed first, then print whenever possible. Even with good adhesion...
  5. Jv300. Random head firing

That looks like an electrical issue. I'd start by unplugging the printer and check that all the ribbon cables to the board, carriage, and heads are clean, seated firm/ correctly, and that there's no ink or anything anywhere near the connectors.
  6. Mimaki JV 33 - 130 | Both yellows are not working

It won't flow ink into the damper unless the valve is open. If you take the panel off the back side behind the ink cartridges you'll see all the solenoids that open the valves, first run a print with nothing but a yellow square and see if the yellow ones are opening, if not you have either a bad...
  7. Happy New Year!

2023 was a great year for us. Other than our security personnel and greeters demanding more treats and toys in their 2024 contract, it looks like it'll be a pretty good year so far. Happy New Year everyone!
  8. Transfer Tape issues with Printed Vinyl

I use TransferRite Ultra clear. After trying a bunch of different ones for one customer we provide graphics for that go on displays that was having issues. Theirs are print cut with a matte lam. Don't know if that'd work for you, but maybe worth trying. I use the medium tack (1310) for them, and...
  9. dent flatbed table top

Best remedy, get yer' check book out, contact Mimaki, and get a replacement top. I've had to replace them on a Fuji I used to run, one of the shop workers brought in a pallet of parts to print, ended up dumping it and put some dents in it. We tried to fix it, but it didn't work so well, affected...
  10. Customer requesting relief cuts in vinyl

I cringe when a customer provides vinyl with zero specs. They're usually looking more for pricing than what's actually right for the job.
  11. Black Snap Frame Materials?

    Found this place... https://swingframes4sale.com/pages/usa-made-snap-frames-by-length
  12. Customer requesting relief cuts in vinyl

They're paying for it, inform them the cut line will show to cover your butt, get it laid, & get paid. The issues they've had in the past could be the installation technique, or the material might not be what the last guy thought it was either, and not right for the application.
  13. Merry Christmas you filthy animals

Coal again? I... Am going to need a bigger coal bin. Merry Xmas everyone :toasting:
  14. Need Help installed print head

Doesn't matter how, it's always good when a problem is solved, and it's good that you followed up with the solution. This post might help someone else down the road with the same problem, so it'll serve a purpose.
  15. Your Physical Health

    I'm jealous...
  16. My city is getting very greedy

If the permit process stuck to a reasonable cost and procedure to ensure things are done safe, to code, and that you were properly insured, few would have an issue. It insures safety, and also protects you from unqualified, uninsured, fly by night people taking jobs away from you. But yes, many...
  17. Color Match

When I do stealth reflective I print some decent sized color swatches on reflective that are in the color range, laminate so they'll have the final finish, stick em' around on the vehicle, let the customer check them in different light settings, and have them select what's closest to the desired...
  18. Your Physical Health

I don't like cocaine, I just love the way it smells...
  19. Black color not drying on HP 365 Latex

Another thing you can do is grab an IR thermometer and check the heaters all the way across to see if they're in the ballpark of the temp you have it set to. Just because it's hot doesn't mean the temp is what you set it to, or need to cure ink. It's rare, but I have seen issues where they're...
