  1. Is this an Arkansas thing?

Got a cold, cold lesson yesterday morning. Took the dog out, temp was -3, wind chill -23. Expecting to be out for maybe 30 seconds tops (dog does his thing quick when it's cold), just threw a light jacket & slippers on, and the #*%#@ door locked behind me! Wife was sleeping yet and wears...
  2. Rasterlink stuck at locating & printing

Another possible source if everything is set up properly is, how long is the USB cable? Is it a good cable, or an el-cheapo? The longer they are, the more data loss you get. It'll usually recognize the printer because that's just a handshake with little data, but when you send a lot of data it...
  3. Need help matching window tint

Oh Yay! Straight outa' china tint! At least it's flat glass... Be sure to update us how it went.
  4. Squeegee Streaks on Overlam printed Vinyl

Close, but here she'd be sitting in a snow bank. And still need a lot of imagination to wonder what's under the snow suit :roflmao:
  5. Is this an Arkansas thing?

It's a southern thing... Here in the middle of Wisconsin we're usually butt deep in snow by now and 30 below zero. We got spoiled this year, haven't had a shovel or the snowblower out yet, two days ago the grass was green. Finally got our first snowfall, and it's supposed to be up around a foot...
  6. Squeegee Streaks on Overlam printed Vinyl

How come I never get pics like that from my customers? :omg:
  7. Need help matching window tint

Tinted glass is kinda cool that way, it doesn't fade, and can't get damaged or peel like films. Color formulas are kept the same so replacements always match, even after decades. Always found that fascinating since we're always struggling to match colors. Downside is they're not "off the shelf"...
  8. Need help matching window tint

Go straight to the source... The ones that makes & supplies all the colored stuff that Old Castle and most other companies use/ sell. https://www.viracon.com/

  11. Squeegee Streaks on Overlam printed Vinyl

I don't know what squeegees you're using, but I like doing the wet edge too for most things too. I started using these, they work great wet or dry, they stay wet forever, seem to need less pressure, and they last. I bought a 12 pack of these 4" Teflons over a year ago just to try them out, I use...
  12. Need Help Suction cup marks on material

Make sure you let your vendor know there's an issue too, see if they'll correct it.
  13. Need help matching window tint

The tint films available are most likely going to end up being way too intense blue, or too dark to come close to matching. Best option is finding a glass distributor in the area and have it matched, it's probably Viracon, they're the biggest mfgr in the business for colored architectural float...
  14. Need help matching window tint

Can you tell if the original glass has a tint film? Might be SolarBlue tinted glass. Go to Old Castle's website and send an inquiry about how to match it, might get lucky.
  15. Can you speed up UCJV300 where there is no data?

Their roll printers are the same, hit blank space and it takes forever to chunk it's way past it. I usually just run a line w/ 0.2 stroke in 1%C in the file just outside the artwork down the length on the feed side. It's quicker having something there to print (even if it is too small and light...
  16. Double Cuts

Are you using a stroked line, or full shape file for the cut path? Using lines with a stroke, sometimes the stroke gets expanded and reads as two cut lines. I've had that issue at least once with every cutter/ software I've ever used, they'll just do it out of the blue occasionally, no rhyme or...
  17. Disable 1 print head - Roland XR-640 Soljet Pro 4

Kind of sucks that Roland won't do that, Even Mimaki allows you to set which print head/ heads you want to use, but it's software controlled in Rasterlink. Had to do that once too while waiting for a head. Printed slooowww, but got jobs out instead of being down.
  18. Question bad encoder strip cause banding? head replacement cause heater issues?

Sometimes the simple stuff gets overlooked. Had a spray issue like that on a SC-540 I used to run after changing a head. Is that Magenta head seated correctly, if it's cocked at all, not parallel to the bed, or higher than the other heads, they'll spray like that.
  19. Market size for custom-made LED neon signs in the US?

They're just not there for commercial signage, maybe some day, but not yet. I think the best use commercially would be more along the lines of accent lighting in hotel or business lobby, restaurants, clubs or bars, stores and such, which falls more into into the interior design world than the...
  20. Market size for custom-made LED neon signs in the US?

They're kinda cool on some levels, but not very marketable. My opinion is, whoever thought it would be a good idea to put "LED" and "neon" on the same label created a product association that made it a failure right out of the gate. It probably would have gained more traction if it wasn't for...
