  1. Black streaks??? WTH?

The OP says he thoroughly cleaned the whole printhead and carriage area and there is no fuzz present. In addition, fuzz on the printhead/carriage usually presents as discrete droplets and will also occur on the edges of the material outside the print area, on the hold-down devices, anywhere the...
  2. Is there any way to salvage these???

In my experience, if you spent as long uploading photos and posting to customer support at Signs365 as you did here, they'd have sent you new ones free.
  3. The joys of customers...

Yeah, I love the people that want to wrap so it covers up accident damage.
  4. Black streaks??? WTH?

Static electricity due to low humidity. Get a humidifier and keep the humidity in the room up around 40% before printing.
  5. Need Help Prep Illustrator ATV / Snowmobile Graphic Files for Printing

If they had the objects combined as large ones, you need to break them apart before you start adding your graphics so that each individual piece of vinyl is an individual object. Those with holes you will have to recombine the outline with the hole. Then when you go to print, you can handle each...

    Gravoply
  7. Need Help Prep Illustrator ATV / Snowmobile Graphic Files for Printing

The templates are set up so that you can visualize how they fit together on the ski. They aren't meant to be printed in that arrangement. Take the pieces and rearrange them to fit in your print width.
  8. Help with font

    Bellynice Demo
  9. Boat/Marine decals

Not sure how large the engine manufacturer is or their volume, but I've applied factory decal sets to Mercury outboards many times. They aren't made using digital sign printers like we all have. They are screenprinted and die cut. They are using an air release material, to be applied dry. They...
  10. Advice for billboard style sign materials

You can get Alumacorr in 4'x10'. It will serve in that application better than 3mm ACM. It does have the corrugated core visible from the edge, but it is much more rigid and sturdy. Rather than scabbing the two pieces of the face together like they did, I'd move the stringer down to the seam...
  11. Display lightboxes - would anyone use static cling as only printed graphic layer

Are you sure there's not a piece of white plexiglass that will be behind the print? If they are spec'ing a clear print, that would be what I would expect. I would actually talk to the people ordering it and the people making the lightbox to find out for sure. If there really is a piece of white...
  12. Display lightboxes - would anyone use static cling as only printed graphic layer

It sounds like those are Duratrans lightboxes. They're made for Duratrans prints. Find a trade vendor for Duratrans prints and outsource them.
  13. Problem with "black streaks" on vinyl material

Fuzz would do the same on paper. And it usually makes droplets, not fading spray.
  14. How Much Wasted Ink

That's probably about right. It has to flush the lines and head and prime it.
  15. Is Everyone Tired Of AI

Apparently OpenAI is tired of it.
  16. Install halo lit letters on wood fence?

Have them build a section of "fence" in front of the fence that is built tighter and stronger than the fence. More like your other photo. Put the letters on that. Wiring and ballasts are then hidden by the actual fence, and not subject to something down the line on the fence pulling it off plumb.
  17. Problem with "black streaks" on vinyl material

That looks like static overspray on the vinyl, which is more likely to develop static electricity. You need to use a humidifier to raise humidity above 40% to fix that. You can test for that by using sticks in the sensors to be able to run the printer with the lid open. If the overspray goes...
  18. How Much Wasted Ink

Probably a lot less than leaving the special ink in there being dumped out in 3 automated head washes a day for weeks on end while you're not using that color.
  19. Business Names with no meaning

How are initials/monograms/acronyms essentially meaningless? PPG means Pittsburgh Plate Glass. IBM is International Business Machines. NBC is National Broadcasting Company, and so on.
  20. Storage of Vinyl Upright

The Arlon core holders are over 1" thick. The rolls are off the ground. They are also hollow so you get an air gap.
