  4. I don't think this fell off from any car wash

If we are talking about washing a car with a pressure washer and the paint is coming off, it means you are doing it wrong. Too much pressure, wrong nozzle, wrong angle, too close to the finish, or hitting edges of chipped or damaged paint. My point is, you CAN power wash vehicles, even if they...
  5. I don't think this fell off from any car wash

Not the dozers and things we have to deal with. Stuff is soft, chalks, comes off easily. I've never had a pickup or car do that unless it's one with all the clearcoat gone and 20 years old.
  6. Boat wrap

Well, your experience is much different from mine. I've used Avery vinyls the whole time I've been working in the industry (over 30 years) and never had their vinyl, HP or intermediate, just fall off. I don't do color wrapping material much but when I have used it, it feels thick to me.
  7. Boat wrap

It's not Avery vs. 3M. It's permanent cast sign vinyl vs. removable cast vinyl (ij180). Or vs. 7 mil wrap (removable) vinyl.
  8. I don't think this fell off from any car wash

That's not car paint. Heavy equipment and trailer paint comes off with orange peel.

  10. I don't think this fell off from any car wash

If you think it's hard to blow decals off with a pressure washer, either you don't get out much or you've never used a pressure washer. Even a typical consumer-grade gas-powered pressure washer can strip decals off a vehicle lickety-split, and it looks exactly like the OP's pictures. And the...
  11. Need Help Has anyone ever approached their City Council to review and change a city ordinance for sign placement?

Yes, we have that in one village at our resort area as well. It's the "rich" neighborhood.
  12. Need Help Has anyone ever approached their City Council to review and change a city ordinance for sign placement?

Again, it depends on the town. Here, the ordinance specifically prohibits using a vehicle as a sign, and even goes further to say that business vehicles which have lettering on them cannot be parked off property and left, and even when parked at the business location cannot be parked and left in...
  13. Who wants to help.................................................................

I think your friend is talking out his a**. He's spreading FUD that he cannot prove and cannot find where it comes from. Meanwhile, I've used AMD for the entire time I've been doing signs (over 30 years) and have used integrated graphics, separate graphics cards (both nVidia and AMD), all the...

Dyna. Except you'll have to shave a piece off the top of the F.
  16. Font id help

Considering that it's a handcrafted sign made from a wood board with letters carved on it, you are not going to find a computer font that is a direct match.

  18. Onyx PosterShop 19 - CUTServer seems to be working, but job doesn't get to plotter - "CUT TO FILE"?

Cut to File, as the name implies, sends the plot job as a file to a folder (which you choose in the Setup button next to it. It's odd that you cannot choose USB for the Mimaki. I checked on our RIP station, which isn't connected to any plotters, and I can choose TCP/IP or USB for my Mimaki...
  19. Vehicle Panel Inserts

PPF templates are different from the templates sold for designing wraps. They are cut-ready files for paint protection film and have to fit the body perfectly because you aren't supposed to cut PPF on the vehicle.
