  1. Shop roomba?

We have one at home and it's great, but I think it would break pretty quickly at the shop, not made for picking up bits of aluminum, screws, vinyl scraps etc.
  2. Brand New HP Latex 335 wont turn on

Glad you got it working in the end, sucks that HP dropped the ball by giving you bad info. In regards to training, I guess Grimco will need to send someone out still, but to be honest between YouTube and this forum you will learn more than a tech can teach you in a day, keep in mind the techs...
  3. Rant Customers

Tell him your booked up for the next 12 months and let him find someone else, this guy will never be happy, so don't worry about it, move on.
  4. Sign Mounting Film?

3M 468MP is what you are looking for, there are some other brands but for peace of mind use the 3M
  5. Need Help! Heavy office signs keep falling.

we just get the GE I silicone from home depot.
  6. Need Help! Heavy office signs keep falling.

always use a 100% silicone adhesive in conjunction with your tape when installing these types of signs, the change in temperature from heating to air conditioning can cause the signs to buckle and pop off the wall, the silicone is flexible enough to hold them in place.
  7. Are the cheap vinyl cutters worth it?

If someone came to me with a file set up ready to plot (nested to the size of the roll, just load and cut) I would be willing to cut it from my own stock of your choice for a pretty reasonable price, especially if it was cut only, no weeding or masking. I would recommend reaching out to a few...
  8. Does anyone know how these are called?

These are going to be custom fabricated, you won't find them in a catalogue. Check out vista signs if you want a modular system that still looks somewhat custom (not the curved ones they are very dated now)
  9. Onyx gamma print vs postershop

Does gamma print have a cut option to drive your summa? When we got our Epson s80600 and graphtec, we ended up getting onyx thrive because at the time it was on special and was cheaper than postershop. I still don't know what any of the differences are between the onyx products. I believe I...
  10. Chromadek sign estimate in estimatesoftware

3 dimensional signs are typically carved, blasted or manufactured by stacking components to create dimension. My experience with estimate software (years ago) is that it works fine for simple signs like banners, prints on substrates etc. But not so well on complex jobs like 3 dimensional.
  11. Brand New HP Latex 335 wont turn on

I would be telling Grimco to send me a new printer. If a new machine is DOA there should be no trying to fix it, a new machine should be sent out right away. If you bought a new refrigerator from home Depot and it didn't work out of the box, you wouldn't accept them sending out Tech's to swap...
  12. Wrapping a Sprinter van

I they are looking for the cheapest way to get it back to plain white, a cheap paint job will be less than a properly done wrap.
  13. ROLL-X or CWT questions

We have a rolls roller, been pretty happy with it. The clear cutting mats should not be called cutting mats, they don't heal up like a rhino mat and will leave marks in your prints when laminating, and they are stupidly expensive, ours was useless after 2 years due to heavy handed employees...
  14. S80600 grey turning brown

There hasn;t been an update to the S80600 in about 2 years so I doubt it. If you want to send me the file I can test it on my S80600 and see how it prints
  15. S80600 grey turning brown

try deleting the old file from the finished queue, and re rip the file again, sometimes files that sit in the queue for a while get messed up, not sure why. if your other files print fine this is likely the cause. Do you use the same profile you use for this job on other jobs? are they OK?
  16. Shop humidity level

Just curious what the humidity level is in your shop? We got a new summa f1612 and have noticed the vinyl buckles when it feeds onto the table, summa has told me this is "normal" but it's causing issues when cutting. I bought a humidistat and the shop right now is around 55-60% humidity. We...
  17. Setting up a sheet with crop marks in Onyx

Why do you need bleed on the outer perimeter? I would set these up in onyx with trim corner marks and 0 space between copies. Bleed is not as critical in our industry for things like this, just cut 0.5mm inside the print with your ruler and knife when cutting them out.
  18. VG 540 misalignment

    Pic?
  19. HP L360 for small letters

Sorry but this is not true, both latex and eco solvent ink have similar lifespans of around 3 years unlaminated. The surecolor printers will give you a better image quality vs the latex due to the smaller picoliter size, and in the case of the s80600 the addition of orange and red ink. The...
  20. Colorado 1650 advice wanted on purchasing

Same, we close for 2 weeks over Christmas and when I come back a quick light headwash and a once over with a swab and our s80600 is ready to roll
