Yikes. I don't like that business model, at all. We never renewed our service contract after the included 2 years were up on our Arizona, and have never had anything serious go down/need replacing, knock on wood.
It's normal, not much you can do to prevent it. The laminate touches the glass in certain areas depending on squeegee pressure.
It will go away and even out over time.
We previously used 3M SCPS-55 for years, and have recently switched to Transferite 992U for our air egress graphics (including IJ180mc-10LSE)
ND sells/stocks it in Canada.
The main problem you'll find with using "regular" or medium tack premask is that it will not lay flat on areas of the...
Interesting, I've never heard of such an animal. Seems like a really cool concept.
I spent 6 hours straight the other day fighting with routing small pieces on our Summa F. Closest thing to a solution I've found is adding application tape to the back of sheets and using 1/8" MDF as a...
What software are you using? Man I can't wait to get a real CNC & software. Routing on our Summa F has become a real chore and the software is just brutal to work with.
I'm sure there are still tons of 15" plotters out there. We have (4) gerber plotters in various states.
We definitely don't use our Gerber Edge + plotters as much any more but they can't be beat for certain jobs. Quick 1 color print jobs are super quick and efficient to knock off.
As...
That's awesome! I guess that would be considered lenticular printing then?
Any tips on achieving this? (I'm sure there is no quick/easy answer)
We've also got a flatbed w/ white that barely gets used, always looking for ways to experiment with different effects.
I did some multi-layered...
651 is NOT wrap film.
Solid color wrap films will come in 60" wide rolls.
Product lines from the big 3 will be:
3M 2080
Avery SW900
Oracal 970RA
Plus all the other off-brands.
Mind elaborating on that a bit? I've consider adding fume extraction to our UCJV / Epson printers but not super excited about cutting holes in them, and always wondered what that air flow would do in terms of static / ink spray etc.
Thanks!
What did you use for application fluid?
What kind of clear vinyl did you use and is it solvent or water based adhesive?
Do you have the option to mount with a laminator? This will eliminate the liquid stains and most issues related to wet-mounting to acrylic/glass. Takes a LONG time for the...
Thanks for the tips guys.
Whole thing took less than an hour and turned out good, customer is happy.
Used my trusty Milwaukie M18 hammer drill and clear silicone.
I guess it was just a thin skimcoat of stucco over plywood so it drilled pretty easily with a masonry bit.
Didn't have to worry...
That's what I was wondering, if they're going to make them disposable/consumable like HP or make them just as durable but easier to replace. (I also haven't read the article about it so they may address those issues)
Looks interesting. Don't love the idea of stocking 11 different inks but hitting 99% of pantones would be nice.
Does this make this the first user replaceable solvent printer on the market?
We let ours accumulate for 5+ years then hire a company to come dispose of it properly. Was a big ordeal, tons of paperwork, and cost us $500+ CDN to get it done.
