    Welcome from the flat province!
  3. Inflation

Yeah they are great looking signs! Sandblasting seems to have disappeared when it comes to signs, we used to do a lot of them back in the day. It took me a full week of phonecalls and unanswered emails before I could even find anyone local that would blast a sign for us.
  4. Inflation

We recently had to re-quote a sandblasted cedar sign we did back in 2017..........previous price was $1785 (which was way too low to begin with) and I re-quoted it at around $4k. Didn't get the job. Whoever wants to do it cheaper can have it. Regarding your questions about inflation, I would...

How much are we talking roughly for a Kala Mistral?
  7. 3M 8508 alternative

I thought 8508 was always a calendared product?? Anyways, we exclusively use 8418G now for gloss laminate. It's going to cost more than 8508, but less than 8518. Overkill on some products yes, but only stocking/using one gloss laminate has been working well for us and allows us to streamline...
  8. Laminator Purchase Checklist

Vids or it didn't happen! I don't know how they can claim less waste.........we probably use 16"of laminate and 6" of vinyl to web up a fresh roll. And I could probably do it in 2 mins start to finish on our dinosaur GBC lol.
  9. Laminator Purchase Checklist

I dunno....almost a full 5 minutes and a couple yards later........seems like the most inefficient way you could possibly web up a laminator.
  10. Onyx 24 issue BEWARE!

Sorry to hear Scott! Have you found a workaround yet? Haven't run into this yet but will make a note of it, sure it's bound to happen sooner or later. ONYXtechtips any plans to fix this? I feel like this is a pretty substantial bug that could cost your customers a lot of money, while paying a...

  12. Suggestions Rush fees

I'm sure this has been discussed here before, but search feature isn't currently working so............... How do you guys handle rush fees? Mostly referring to B2B sign shops. Most of our customers are great and reasonable and give us lots of warning, especially for larger projects. But...

  15. HP R1000 on 6mm bevelled Sintra

Agreed. You're trying to get the printer to do something that just isn't possible. I'm assuming the beveled edges are a requirement from the client given the location, but can you talk them into chamfered edges instead? If you had a sharp(er) edge / angle on the top at least, the ink would...
  16. Screenshot: What software is this?

Upon further inspection, it appears you may be correct. The Gordon Is Gone Fishin' checks out.
  17. Screenshot: What software is this?

Not sure about what brand of basement/nephew software that is, but please for the love of god get rid of that apostrophe if you're fixing this art for them! Sorry, couldn't help myself. I'm always amazed just how much of the population insists on having their cabin signs spelled incorrectly.
  18. Label is peeling upwards when performing cuts does anyone know why?

The drying time feature is nice, but if you're having to set it to an hour you might be better off sheet-cutting your job(s) so you can keep printing. You'll need to use the print then cut feature which means printing registration marks and changing your settings to "cut only" when re-loading...
  19. Label is peeling upwards when performing cuts does anyone know why?

Aside from off-gassing, you'll also want to add a bleed to your shapes.
