  1. Installing 4x4 realtor signpost

Not saying it's wrong, to each their own...but I'm curious why you attach them after you install the posts? I typically screw the faces to the posts while everything is laying on the ground. Super easy to square up and then you can just tip the whole assembled thing up and let your posts slide...
  2. Tape Mount Acrylic Lettering Part 2

If you'd rather use studs than tape, just barely drill through the drywall. No need to drill 2"-3" past it. Once through, just push the drill through (with it off) to see if it hits anything. If it does (or if you hit a metal stud when drilling), circle those stud placements on the pattern...
  3. Tape Mount Acrylic Lettering Part 2

Just curious, why not stud-mount them? It would eliminate any adhesion concerns....
  4. Tape Mount Acrylic Lettering Part 2

He said drywall, so I would assume it's interior. Chances are, it will be a "scrubbable" paint.... Sherwin Williams Promar 200 is pretty much the go-to for any commercial building/remodel. I would wait for three days before taping anything to it.
  5. Tape Mount Acrylic Lettering

I've emailed them numerous times over the past few years asking them to provide them as an option. They finally did (not necessarily because of me, obviously) but a lot of folks still just aren't aware they're an option.
  6. Tape Mount Acrylic Lettering

Talking about tape-mounted dimensional letters, no....? These are using the small wood block with the brad nail: This is cutting the center out of the pattern, leaving the tops and bottoms of the letters: This was installed using stencil-cut patterns:
  7. Tape Mount Acrylic Lettering

A stencil cut pattern out of a semi-rigid material (cardboard, Coroplast, etc.) is by far the fastest and most accurate way to install. However, that hasn't fully caught on (and in some cases it can just be a flimsy mess if there's not enough spacing to maintain rigidity), so pretty much every...
  8. 6" high, 1/4" thick acrylic letters on aluminum cladding

Agreed, if the install surface is clean, tape and Lexel would be fine.
  9. 6" high, 1/4" thick acrylic letters on aluminum cladding

If you decide to stud mount, you'll need to drill the holes slightly larger than the standard 3/16" (assuming the typical 10-24 studs are used)....otherwise the studs will bind up and get to a point where you can't get them in and can't get them out.
  10. Suggestions Non-sign making predicament..............

EGO is top of the line in codless OPE. Sounds like a glitch on the DeWalt....they're pretty reliable.
  11. Finding Sign Codes

My initiation into the sign industry was compiling sign codes for every address the company was quoting, selling, etc. Compiled over 1400 over 4 years. Municode is the best source. Amlegal is another option. I think there were one or two more, but I can't recall what they were. We would...
  12. Please help what Silicon adhesive for this particular application

Not crystal clear on what you're doing, but if you're adhering acrylic to something, I would recommend Lexel.
  13. Looking for recommendations: mounting tape, semi-permanant (12mo)

3M Command Strips, available pretty much anywhere.
  14. Question Anyone in Texas collecting unemployment?

Unemployment is for employees - people who work for someone else. The Paycheck Protection Program is for the self-employed. You don't have to show job searches if you're self-employed....only if you're an employee collecting unemployment.
  15. Anyone install letters on this surface and live to tell about it?

That's also that composite wall material, not ceramic. Super easy to drill.
  16. Anyone install letters on this surface and live to tell about it?

Yep.... it's completely doable, but it's going to suck a little. Bring diamond core bits, water, towels, and lots of patience.
  17. Anyone install letters on this surface and live to tell about it?

If it's ceramic, it's going to kind of suck. Going to need a few diamond core bits, etc. Pretty sure this is a composite panel - not ceramic. They're pretty easy to drill.
  18. Name change

For what it's worth, I think this would have been a perfect introductory post when you joined. As far as a name, I think using your own shows transparency.
