Spend the money for the right material which is cast vinyl and you will not have these issues. It appears to be more money upfront I understand that, but in the long run you will save thousands of dollars on re-do's and failed jobs I promise! I do have my kits finally in and they sell for $900...
Yes you can do it and my fabrics blow the others outta the water FYI. For flag material though, you will not get good show through on both sides. My material is a light weight air-tight fabric so it will not bleed onto your machine. It would be better to print 2 and sew together.
I carry the Senfa Decoprint brand directly from France, they make the most award winning fabric in the industry. Want to try the Pearl? It's the most famously known backlit fabric industry wide.

A solvent printer from China, and I would run liters of ink that cost $6-10 a liter. Then I would get a gun and blow my brains out from all the issues it created for my printheads lol.
