I would go for it. I would upgrade the software, Omega 4.0 is loaded with new features from the 2.xx version you have. I think the $8300 price is really good but then I have free use any time I want to printer, cutter, foils, etc.
Ram memory is used mostly, the page file is used by the OS and we have no control over when it's used. If it happens mostly or at all only when there are a lot of jpegs loaded that is something I can look into but not asap.
If you have problems w/ Omega 4.0 you should report them via the Gerber application called PERU. With this app you state your problem, you can attach any files you want and email the report to Gerber (the address is built in). we look at the report database everyday to see if we need more info...
JR if possible do you have the Gerber app PERU installed? If you do it would help if you submitted a PERU report with some of the files that show the problem and maybe give a little more detail of how this occurs. A number of us have tried it here and we do not see the problem. Has any Omega 4.0...
This maybe a long shot, but add this line to the [plotters] section of the device.ini file in the Gerber software folder. I do n ot think we support Graphtec plotters so this setup makes it look like a generic HP Language type plotter. The current Omega 4.0 does support this cutter...
More info in the Sandbox - thanks Dana

If you are using Omega 2.5 or greater the Omega DVD is loaded with How to vids. Also you may want to visit the Gerber Web site (www.gspinc.com) and browse around. There are lots of goodies there.
By RAMDisk I assume you mean a "local" dirve.
Also, with Windows 7 we have found it to be a lot slower over the network. I do know that they rewrote the entire TCP/IP stack to handle IP6 and other features but we have yet to figure out what the hell is going on.
Question from Omega / Flexi users. Are you still using the SafeNet key? Hasp or Rainbow. If still with SafeNet what version of their driver are you delivering. We always seem to step on each others security key drivers.
Thanks
Please write it down so next time we will refer the problem to you.
Thanks Craig.
Can you imagine, as great as the Signmaker was we only have one in the entire company. Sad, I should have stashed away a bunch of stuff. One more month and it will be 35 years, yikes.
As Craig said
"and you might have to hit return after you go to GDS plot, I seem to remember them switching to "gds ready"" - thats the only thing I can think of. You pics all look correct.
I think we have one unit but I need to find it and I know it's NOT in the building I'm in.
