  1. Vinyl education guide

No problem! To answer your original question, I don't know if one standard version exists for what you're looking for. I was recently looking at an app targeted towards creating e-books and training/reference documents, I wonder if this would be a good test run for it...
  2. Vinyl education guide

https://www.signs101.com/threads/i-have-retired.172504/#post-1605547 (Not exactly what you're asking, but maybe could be helpful for new hires)
  3. Help choosing a second printer

On our S60600 - the dry time is insanely fast. I haven't pushed it or tested it, but it can lay down and dry ink faster than any solvent printer I've ever seen. (Coming from Roland Soljets) We'll still throw heavy coverage prints on our dryer/fan set up overnight and laminate next day, but...
  4. Help choosing a second printer

We recently added an Epson S60600 and have been really happy with it. I'd say it's worth adding to your list.
  5. Shoutout to ChatGPT. Cheapest customers always give the best reviews!

That's the paint job that you guys had to go over.................?
  6. Opinion Screen-printed shirts - Quality check on aisle 3

Thanks everyone for your feedback, I'm glad to know I wasn't just being picky. I know my standards are really high with how all of our work is done but sometimes that unnecessarily spills over into other aspects. I've reached out the printer and they got back to me right away and offered to...
  7. Opinion Screen-printed shirts - Quality check on aisle 3

I can only imagine how frustrating that must be! Especially with how cutthroat the industry is, and how you probably have to invest in a lot of equipment and automation in order to compete. Add inconsistent garment quality to the equation and that would be really hard to keep up with.
  8. Opinion Screen-printed shirts - Quality check on aisle 3

Thanks for that, super helpful. We didn't ask for fast or cheap, still think we should've gotten something that isn't good?
  9. Opinion Screen-printed shirts - Quality check on aisle 3

Thanks for the feedback, was hoping to hear from someone in the industry. We don't screen-print or deal with garments but I also wouldn't let something like that leave my shop.
  10. Opinion Screen-printed shirts - Quality check on aisle 3

No pockets, they're t-shirts. Gildan Softstyle G-64000 to be exact. The ink only came off one shirt out of 4-5 that we've washed so far. I don't plan on washing them all as some of these were going to be for clients, friends etc. Now that we're looking at them closer, the quality of the...
  11. Opinion Screen-printed shirts - Quality check on aisle 3

Just got some company shirts printed from a local company. Response, attentiveness, turnaround time and pricing were all really good. Washed a couple shirts (inside out) once and already have ink coming off. My first impression when we received the shirts was that blue ink didn't cover white...
  12. another stupid story

Might be worth looking into, would allow you to carry inventory costs for clients with terms and not hurt your cash flow.
  13. Rant Whatever happened to Health & Safety?

So they obviously use this van ladder all the time like this, ha.
  14. Summa Manual Barcode??

Good point. Then you create a cut file and name it with that same number? Just curious what this workflow would look like.
  15. Summa Manual Barcode??

What would be the purpose of manually creating Summa barcodes? How would you know what number to use for the barcode?
  16. another stupid story

Net 30/60 is common practice with big companies, you'll have to get used to it or risk not having any big clients. You get net 30 terms from your suppliers, right? Most of our customer are on net 30 terms. Any flaky or new customers prepay for orders. Order materials, get 30 days to pay...
  17. Discussion Anyone using Jestor software? (No-code/low-code app builder)

Thanks, much appreciated! So my initial goal is/was: -Create internal order form that is easily editable and doesn't require a bunch of manual steps. -Create digital job board to store all orders w/ status and due dates etc -Create digital schedule for daily tasks and tracking project...
  18. Mimaki CJV150 pinch roller monkey business

Gotta protect those patents, even if it means pissing off every one of your end users! :roflmao: The local / remote thing is also pretty ridiculous. There is literally no benefit or need for it. Also the fact that our UV printer stalls at the end of every print job and says...
  19. Nesting software suggestions?

Agreed. I guess for high volume / any sort of automated workflow a RIP-level nesting feature would be a must, though. For us "smaller" folk, nesting shapes in Illustrator or Corel is fine but when you're processing tons of files and/or using Web2print solutions that wouldn't be ideal.
