  1. Question about painting over Aluminum siding..

Not to be "that guy", but... One thing everyone will probably want to know before making any recommendations on painting. Does the gym own, or rent/ lease the space? If it's rented/ leased I'd start by checking with the owner or property manager to see if they'll even allow it to be painted...
  2. Artificial Intelligence Art Generation

It's been like that for quite a while, and worse every day. I won't subject myself to all the BS of going to shows either, and that's part of why my drums are collecting dust... Don't even have the desire to go back out performing live anymore, just not worth all the effort to play for people...
  3. Artificial Intelligence Art Generation

I see stuff like that posted every day and question where the world is heading... Picked up a grand daughter from high school one day when her car was in the shop, most kids were shuffling out like zombies, either staring at phones or just blank faced like they were lost. Makes me kind of glad...

  5. Artificial Intelligence Art Generation

that's funny... Parroting basic and general information you'll find posted all over the web, in forums like this, manufacturers support pages, and... the user manual. A digital xerox machine feeding copies of what's already known. All stuff you can look up yourself, but gee, this way seems so...
  6. Artificial Intelligence Art Generation

I started this stuff in the 60's painting and hand lettering trucks. When I think back to those days, and look at what I'm doing digitally today it makes my brain hurt... The advancements in technology is insane.
  7. Artificial Intelligence Art Generation

I have no desire to let AI do my work for me, heck, I don't even use image tracing. I love what I do... If I was tempted to use it commercially, I'd be concerned about how the upcoming litigation could change everything we think is right or wrong to do with it right now. Imagine doing a large...
  8. A new level of creepy

So... If you're a raging heterosexual male with lesbian tendencies, does that make you a bi with today's standards? It's tough being old and confused :p
  9. Gaps in nozzle test

    Here's a pretty good one
  10. A new level of creepy

It does get pretty creepy. Do what I do, have fun with it... It's all done by bots anyway, who can't call BS on you. Hit the gear icon and hit the "hide ad", when it asks for the reason to not see it, check "irrelevant" or "offensive". I do that on everything I can that hits close to home to...
  11. Who uses Linux for work (print, signs etc)

Linux has it's strong points, it's great for hosting/ serving data, it's open source makes it great for creating custom programs and apps... But you won't find too many in the sign industry using it for daily workflow. The lack of existing software and device plugin support needed makes it...
  12. Everything went...right?

If I had a day go that good, I would have bought a lotto ticket too... Just in case...
  13. t3 miller weldmaster

Place I originally retired from we sewed most. We started off welding, taping, or sewing depending on the situation, then replaced the single needle sewing machine we had with a two needle commercial machine, from then on almost everything was sewn. Sewn hems with that double stitch look...
  14. Computer type

I'm still running 10-pro, if and when I get the gumption to bump up to 11 I'll probably go with the pro version too... It's been out long enough now that the bugs should be worked out.
  15. Best vinyl for university table decals?

If they have the original vintage finish it would either be shellac, or nitrocellulose lacquer depending on the era they were from. Both are fun stuff to work with in an enclosed area ;)
  16. Computer type

Are you pulling the trigger? That'll definitely do anything you can throw at it... :thumb:
  17. Kids learn so fast

All I've ever done is art and music... None of my kids wanted anything to do with either. Grand kids are a different story, they all wanna play drums like grandpa. Always a little envious of the ones with kids that wanna follow in their footsteps. It's so cool :)
  18. Plotter Cutting Curves Jagged

I use alcohol to clean them, and detail brushes... They're shaped like a tooth brush, so they can get into tight areas but a lot stiffer, and they're chemical resistent. They have them in nylon, brass, and stainless bristles, places like Harbor Freight & hardware stores sell them, you can get a...
  19. Plotter Cutting Curves Jagged

Bunch of possibilities... Doubtful it's software to me. I'd start with a fresh blade, when you put it in the holder make sure it spins freely, if not replace the holder, they do go bad, oiling them won't help very long if the bearing is bad. Make sure the blade isn't sticking out too far, that...
  20. Mimaki CJV150 contour cutting is way off

I feel your pain, it's always tough getting them dialed in, especially when it only does it on longer files... A lot of waste generated working out the kinks, especially when its inconsistent, if it was always the same you could adjust for it. I run a CJV-300, and a pair of cutters too, only...
