140 is a hard ink... If you want to stay with flexible you could always go aftermarket. STS Inks sells a replacement for the 200. Don't know how good it is, but might be worth checking into. Nazdar probably has inks that'll work too.

Technically that's not a printable vinyl... But like everything else we print on that we're not supposed to, passes, speed, heat all play a factor in how it turns out, especially with white solvent inks. Slow, hot & many passes is usually the winning combination.

Don't know if it uses the same take-up as the Rolands I used to run, but I'd start by checking the cable that connects to the printer, I've had problems with those in the past. Since you have two working ones, swap a cable from one of the working ones, if it fixes it, order new cables.

Paints are more resilient than vinyl, and look at the abuse those metal stools and tables get, it just won't hold up very long, and you'd probably be the one they blame. Personally, I wouldn't take the job, but that's just me. It would be more economical to sand down and spray all the metal...
