we're hoping to purchase a system in the next month or two. You basically have:
home built type systems which you can find online and convert an office/home Epson too but don't expect the print heads to last long and they are sloooooow
Systems from China that are resold by US companies which...
oh geez, I saw that last week too and am hoping something changes this week. Have three large orders for NL 3600 Heather grey and have been searching for two weeks. Ordered district perfect weight instead but the color is a weird olive Heather grey… hopefully they restock soon so we can both...
hi, just curious. If you have time could you explain what you meant by this comment below? Are you setting the gradients up as halftone dots so it’s not a solid texture?
NOTE we have found to get a better texture / feel with DTF to treat like a screen set up with gradients
We could help but we’re in Hawai’i so I’d look somewhere else
As others mentioned DTF is a great alternative. A good dtg print(we have a massive and scarily expensive kornit system) will feel better than any dtf but sometimes for small logos dtf actually looks nicer and we combine the two all...
just a note, pretty much everyone seems to be selling the same holographic so there's a good chance that you're just buying the same vinyl under a different name.
We’ve gotten grants to update interior lighting to LED, upgrade to more efficient air conditioning etc. Got a grant during the pandemic that covered some digital marketing and a new sublimation printer but it was being in the right time right place and it was a lot of paperwork but definitely...
Hi Matt,
There are bunch of threads already on the forum that have a ton of info. I know as I had the same questions…
There are special vinyls for this purpose and almost every manufacturer makes one. Generally you’d do white plexi and then depending on your preference a lot of people print...
we buy a big box of swab-it swabs every couple of years and then get some larger and smaller syringes from solvent inkjet.
If you have the mbis (mimaki bulk ink system) system there is a special syringe for purging that.
Other than that it’s just cleaning solution, maybe spare ink line and...
same here… anyone want to buy a super cheap 628 dye sub…
I’m probably buying a dual i3200 head 14” or 24” from hanrun paper in China. Thinking of the 14” first and then in half a year or so when the tech seems to calm down we’ll get a 24”. Hoping to order next month. Luckily I’m right next...
just be aware that the first time you ship something via ocean freight from China there is a pretty decent chance that there are extra charges (customs broker, random shipping charges especially if you ship “door to door”) that might pop up. If also really depends where you’re located. If...
congrats! Sublimation does feel like magic when you first start with it.
Have you checked out t-shirt forums? You’ll find more small scale sublimation people over there than here.
The hardest thing with 3rd party inks is dialing in your colors but sure are cheap. If you keep going and like...
You’re probably better off asking on t-shirt forums as most people here are sign shops.
We’re spending $500+ a month with stahls and I think we’re going to order an ink giant or more likely Hanrun paper 24” printer soon. They both seem to have well developed systems. The powderless system...
Don't quite understand what you're trying to do. Are you trying to flush out the aqueous ink and switch to solvent or vice versa? You basically do a full flush which whatever flush is compatible with your current ink set. Then flush out that flush with the new type of flushing fluid and...
We have a Mimaki CG-FXII and the cutter performs flawlessly but the interface through Mimaki's RIP is a bit of a mess and not very intuitive. You also need an older copy of Illustrator to make the plugin run properly. I'm guessing once we get it set up in Onyx correctly that will help but...
this has happened to me before too. Take off as many parts as you need to really give it a good cleaning, make sure it slides back and forth smoothly and manually put it back in into it's home position and restart.
GREAT company. Good pricing and better yet good support and nice people. I’ve purchased 3 mimaki heads from them over the years and lots of parts, grommets and ink
Hi, I’m in the same boat and been trying to figure this out off and and for a while. Every time I search I find more rips that support the vj628 (cadlink does now too) but it does seem to need a firmware update and I wonder about ink agitation. If you get the bulk ink system from sts at least...
You probably need to learn how to manually draw ink into the dry heads with a syringe. You detach the capping station hose from the pump, stick a syringe into the hose and gently apply a vacuum to pull ink into the damper and into the head. Then do a few regular cleanings and usually you're...

I should have a main board and a bunch of other boards. I'd prefer to sell the whole box of boards (it's basically all the boards from a VP540 as we stripped two machines last year) for $250+ shipping or something like that.
