Thanks for all the info. We're alternating loving it (I the owner love it as it's fast and we're swamped in Campaign banners) and semi-hating it (my production guys since we still don't really have it dialed).
We've got ours running at 5/7/2 on 13oz matte banner and it's working well but with...
Hi, I sent you a pm. I’m local (assuming you’re in Honolulu) and might be able to at least point you in the right direction. You could take a look at our printers and see what you’d need size wise. As others mentioned this forum is more for sign businesses versus customers and you’re kind of...
Wow, do you guys get $6-8? We are at $4 and we’re in Hawaii paying crazy rent and overhead. Even at $4 we often have customers coming in with a lower offer from another printer. We price our campaign banners at $2.25 a square foot. 13oz vinyl, solvent printed, taped edges although we just...
We’ve mounted a lot of gf 203 and other permanent vinyls to birch ply with no problems or peeling. Sometimes we use higher tack vinyl as well but we’ve never really had any issues. Ideally wrap it over the edge and maybe secure the wrap on the back side with a staple gun etc but we’ve done it...
Hi, do you have the manual for it? The error codes are all in the manual.
You can’t get parts overseas.
You can contact helicon graphics for support.
I have the same machine.
I'm confused too but here's what we do:
-we are a solvent only shop so we offer quick turnaround signs which are vinyl laminated to coro and then slower turn which we usually use Firesprint for and it's UV or screen printed.
-this pricing is only for campaign signs so 50+ of the exact same...
one of our clients just does soapy water mounts for their coroplast sheets all the time and she does full 4x8' panels. You might want to use rapid-tack or something though as it seems to dry faster and wait a while before it leaves your shop so it's fully dry. Or swap to air release vinyl and...
I'm in Hawaii so I don't think I'm a good source but we could help... You can try Terry Town in CA as well but I think their lead time is over a month right now.
For sublimated towels they start out pure white so whether it's a corner print or printing the whole thing it's probably going to be...
Hi,
I have one of these and we never really ended up using it and a lot of it was because we tried to sit it on the table next to our presses and our guys would always knock it when loading shirts and throw it off. I'd really suggest mounting it above the press somehow. Ether on the wall...
The Bordeaux ink is awesome. Been buying it from Solventinkjet for years and multiple printers. We actually prefer it to the SS21 Mimaki ink as it works just as well and the fumes are so so much milder. We'd buy it over the oem ink even if it was the same price. Just wanted to throw that...
I think the only issue you’re going to run into is that at least in my experience there matte lam adds a bit of a yellow tint to the print or at least ours does. We’re currently printing panels to go in the window cutouts of a few sprinters and we’re doing a black design on a dark grey...
Unfortunately with your home inkjet printing water based ink versus a mild solvent or latex like commercial printers the ink is never really going to bond to vinyl that we’ll. Like others said you could try los tack tape but it might not be something you can solve.
We picked up Onyx Thrive. We haven't really gotten the hang of it yet and for some reason we can't get our Mimaki to connect to it but I guess eventually we'll get it working. We have the Epson, a Mimaki JV150, a Mimaki 63" cutter and a Zund and ideally we'll eventually get them all working on...
Thanks for replying on my apparent mistake on it wasting material at the start of the print. I need to check on what we're doing wrong as the we're loosing about a foot on the leading edge which isn't a big deal for most prints but we do a lot of small heat transfer jobs as well and it hurts on...
Hi, I can send a pic tomorrow. Are you the one who messaged me on FB about the board? If you did I unfortunately can't reply as our FB account has been messed up for years. Please email me at hybriddesignhi@gmail.com or else I'll post the pic here tomorrow.
it's extremely minimal. so minimal that the tech who installed ours didn't even go over it... yeah, not the best installation job but like others said it's really simple compared to every other printer out there. Honestly the only two complaints we have so far are that:
-it wastes more media...
you might just cut pieces off laminate off and do each piece individually versus having the laminate come off of the roll like how you have it now. It’s a lot easier start that way and not that much slower
Hi, as far as I know you can’t. On some machines if the 4 and 6 color machines share the same circuit boards you might be able to do it but I don’t think the XC does. I owned both the 4 color vp540 as sell as the XC and I don’t remember it being possible.
I’d replace all your cap tops and...
