It's pretty much a bunch of guts of the machine that need replaced and other's tuned up and cleaned. I'm having a tech do mine soon... been putting it off for far too long.
So I'm testing the New General Formulations 830 with the Optically Clear Overlam... it's about $400 less than the 3M180/8518 kit for the same longevity and install feels very similar.
It's still $100 cheaper than the 175/8518 kit without the 30% adhesive remaining issue.
The quality control...
I'm seeing this to be further into the rolls now, not just at the end... AND... in just about EVERY ROLL. If 3M doesn't fix this quality issue... it will NO LONGER be the ONE OVERLAMINATE I buy for ALL of my vinyls. Period.
It's not been 700 rolls yet but it's not a "poor maintenance" issue as the head carriage belt is part of the "Maintenance Kit" that my printer was due for anyway. I'm not angry it finally gave out... I'm angry it took forever to get customer service to .... get us going. They finally did...
Haven't been able to get them to give me a quote much less schedule the technician to come and do it (along with the scheduled maintenance kit) been trying for 2 weeks and talked to TWO representatives... one of which said she escalated it to priority and I'd get a quote within an hour, it's...
We get about a dozen inquiries a month for Color Change Wraps.... and as much as I hate leaving money on the table or saying no... I tell them NO!
We ONLY do Digitally printed Commercial Wraps.
I used to spend time with each person explaining why... but then found it's just faster to refer them...
I'm in the same boat... I'll reach out to FireSprint... hopefully they can get close to the price and arrival time that Signs 365 can. If so, I may just switch to them for all my signage.
So, because you've become more proficient, offering your customer their product FASTER... you would charge LESS?? Think about that for a moment. Most businesses offer "faster service" as part of why they are WORTH the price difference. NOT why they should charge less. You're doing it wrong.
Something crazy happened yesterday. Latex ink on Reflective vinyl... came up with the laminate (completely separated) on a piece weeded out... I've NEVER seen this before. Looks like a Print on clear vinyl....but I promise it's not.
Well THIS is a first. The HP Latex ink stuck to the overlaminate when separated. (Reflective vinyl) So I imagine the plasticizers or whatever in the reflective migrated heavily to the surface during the curing process (heat) so much so that they created an almost solid layer at the top, with...
