  1. Applying graphics to 4x8 sheet by ones self

We use our old Daige laminator. Works pretty good as a mounting machine. I see lots on Craigslist after folks inevitably upgrade their shop equipment.
  2. 3M or Avery for color change

Nah. I happily refuse to work with some brands.
  3. Alron Slx With Flite?

I like that it has a longer life expectancy. i don't have issues with it in recesses with my install techniques. The funny thing about this industry that most shops either don't understand or aren't honest with their customers about is the life expectancy of their wraps. EX: they say "We use 10...
  4. Alron Slx With Flite?

    1105 with 1060 Lam.
  5. Question for you guys that do van full wraps

Yipes...slower install and newbie install experience, for more money? Not in my town. Usually guys just cutting their teeth on wraps (essentially practicing on customers vehicles) would be charging LESS, not MORE.
  6. Question for you guys that do van full wraps

Whoah...caution. It doesn't look like you've been a member long so I'll just say... Unless you created the template from scratch, sharing generated templates is not allowed. (as in illegal). I don't know of any of the template companies that allow for licenses that give you permission to share...
  7. Alron Slx With Flite?

So...after doing a few wraps with it...I'll probably stick to Avery 1105. They pendulum swung too far in the non-aggressive initial tack and as stated earlier, when wanting to tack it somewhere to hold...it won't. The adhesive sets after awhile...but until then...it's just floating on top. I...
  8. vinyl wrap removed and adhesive left on the car

Rapid Remover. Spray, let sit for 45 seconds to saturate the adhesive, then spray again to lubricate it wile you scrape it off with a teflon scraper. Repeat for whatever is left.
  9. Would your shop take this wrap job?

They're at the wrong place. They should be at a photography studio discussing this. Once the tons of money is paid to the photographer...then have him send you the photos. This is a completely custom Commercial Caliber photo shoot and staging...plain and simple.
  10. Best choice for vinyl and laminate

If the $300 you'll save between Avery Cast Wrap Kit and a Calendered Kit is whats bothering you might I make a suggestion. Add $300 to the quote. BAM!
  11. Third Issue With Our L560

Solution to the bowing material at the beginning of the print (before it's long enough to put on take-up) I use a straight edge while it's heating up and feeding the media out and back in slowly. Once it's at temp and starts to print forward is the critical moment the media buckles. That's...
  12. Need Help First Wrap

By doing cut graphics there, you'd be spending twice the materials and labor. What possible reason would there be to do cut graphics on that layout that is filling out all the space anyway? Cut graphics are harder to apply to rivets than full wrap vinyl. Hire this job and and watch the...
  13. Vehicle Wraps

Get an annual membership to The Wrap Institute and start watching technique videos from beginner to advanced. Once you've wrapped your own car 10 times applying the techniques, wrap it 10 more times. When you feel the final product looks good enough to charge someone for and will last...start...
  14. Alron Slx With Flite?

Yeah, I typically wait too...but it's on special this month for like $850 kit. Figured I'd try it out on some not so vital stuff.
  15. Alron Slx With Flite?

Just printed and laminated our first roll on the L560. After laminating, my production guy said, "Hey, come look at this"..to which I said uh-oh. It seems to be lifting up along the edges (tunneling). See Pic. Anyone else see this? Shouldn't be a problem once off the backer.
  16. $4 HP L500 Hack

I also wrapped the heater section but it seemed to make it hotter, so I took it off cause that scared me. It was brand new and I'll probably try it again after taking temperature measurements. Anyone else wrap theirs yet that can speak to this? Anyone else "Mod" their printers with...
  17. $4 HP L500 Hack

So, I thought after all the R&D they put into these machines, it was quite silly they didn't put a handle on the window. There's a small gap along the bottom, my fingers, being pretty slim barely fit under, so I just got the hardware from Lowe's and put a handle on myself. See Pic Attached
  18. Question HP 500 series ?s

Passes/Speed/Quality: I still wouldn't go lower than 4 pass. But with the 2nd Optimizer head, it will go faster. Take up: (Front loader etc is supposed to be able to handle 121 Pounds) L560 VS L570: Price difference for bulk ink system was not worth it to me since it would take quite some time...
  19. Plasticizers And The L560

My solution when loading Avery 1105 is cut the curve into it then trim 1/8" or 1/4" off the backer.
