    Sorry this happened to you. Fouling up a job and learning a lesson is right of passage in any trade. In days of old 60's/70's it was hard to scratch glass with the available blades. The blades of today are different. More carbon in them.

    For translucent prints that are going on white plastic we just print on clear laminate. Try it it works fine. Sometimes we do another print in reverse and put it on the back.

    Working for another shop is never a good. To many what if's. What happens if you mess up his print and laminate? What happens if they bring you some kind of material your not used to working with? What if your busy working on a big bucks job?

    This has worked for me in the past. Agree on a price to do the survey but insist that you get paid as soon as you deliver the survey. Most will say yes to this. Send them the survey in a password protected pdf. When they ask for the password tell em not until you pay.
