  1. What is the interior color of your office?

Well, since your profile shows that your company does quite a few items- including wraps- why not have your designers come up with something that could be printed and applied? Whether it's a straight up wall-sized portfolio or something with some artistic flair, it would be a change of pace- and...
  2. Question Markolon Poly sheet

Careful then- you might have a piece that's kind of old. It probably won't have any affect, but it could.
  3. Is it alright to.............................

In refurbishing (or providing new) signs of this type, we'd either insist that landlord (or person paying for the sign) provide vector art of said logos, as well as colors or that they provide us with a name and contact info of someone at the tenant's corporate office who could provide those...
  4. New Owner of Signs101.com

So, if someone pointed it out and you ban them, will you be refunding their payment if they're a premium subscriber? I'm not trying to pick a fight (too much of that here already), but I'd genuinely like to know because that's something I would point out (though, I think, politely).
  5. New Owner of Signs101.com

Best of luck to you, Fred- and to you, and good luck to you, Paul.
  6. Need Help Identify this material??

Just looks like MDO or some other type of plywood to me.
  7. Corel Graphic Suite X7 help

Font limitations, I would guess. Illustrator does the same thing. Then again, I do my design work in inches, not points, so I'm not really sure. Never had a font not be able to be scaled in either CorelDraw or Illustrator when using inches- but maybe I just haven't come across one.
  8. Cool Signs in Montgomery, TX, doesn't pay their bills

I'm with Gino on this. You can (and will, if you tell someone beforehand) end up being charged with a criminal act if you take the signs down.
  9. A thing that pi**es me off... a little bit

UV prints or true solvent prints wouldn't necessarily require laminate, and plotter cut vinyl wouldn't either. Nor would many screen printed graphics. With or without a laminate, reflective is usually gonna be a mofo to remove.
  10. Outdoor digital LED display: where to begin?

This, a thousand times over. Five years ago, the company I worked for at the time agreed to fabricate a rather large message center using components that the customer provided- which, of course, were Chinese made. (Yes, agreeing to do the job was the first mistake.) Amongst the problems: - All...
  11. Vehicle Magnet Supplier

You can solve that by keep a thin sheet of steel in your graphics room. When you need to make a magnet, throw the steel on your production table and put the magnet on it to keep it flat during application. Easy-peasy.
  12. VENT - Things that annoy you in the print industry.

If I was making that kind of money, the amount of bitching I'd do would likely hover around zero.
  13. CNC Router Purchase Recommendation

I second looking for a used Multicam. Great machines. (10+years running them, minimal problems) My limited experience with AXYZ tables was also quite positive. I have no experience with ShopBot, but they have quite a few advocates. You'll also gain quite a bit of knowledge from building it...
  14. Help with a printers and vibrant colors and prints

I have never understood why shops that claim to specialize in printing don't do things correctly. If your shop has a printer, a spectrophotometer is a must-have tool. If you are relying strictly on the manufacturer profiles, you are doing your customers a disservice, so proper media profiling...
  15. Image voids when printing on clear acrylic? How to prevent?

Even if there's color, you're going to see through it when it's printed on the acrylic- so how are you addressing that? Personally, I'd think you'd want the white underbase. Either that, or laminate with white (translucent or opaque, depending on use).
  16. Clear repositionable vinyl

Static cling is all that comes to mind.
  17. I know this is a simple one, having a brain ****

    Mistral, I'm relatively sure.
  18. Setting up Mimaki UJF3042 in warehouse space ?

Unless the "warehouse space" is going to be kept clean (swept daily, mopped at least once a week, etc.), and you're not doing anything like cutting wood, running a router in there, leaving the roll up doors open, or anything else generating airborne debris, don't do it. Getting dust on the...
  19. CG 160FX detecting marks erratic

My first guess would be the prints are skewed ever so slightly. I know all three of the Mimaki cutter's I've used have been touchy about that, at times. If you're 100% certain the marks aren't skewed, then my next guess would be the sensor.
  20. Looking to buy a new tablet.

My laptop handles design work with no problem- Illustrator, Photoshop, Corel- even FlexiSign. I'm sure one day tablets will, too- I just don't see them being at that level yet (I'm not counting touchscreen PCs as tablets).
