  2. problems with HP Latex?

This is a very common issue on the latex machines, it's been mentioned on here a few times, there are some settings you can use to help correct it but the general consensus is that it's the nature of latex machines and the high heat they need. A search will bring up the relevant threads.
  3. Wow, Check out this estimate

I would have the client verify the total at the bottom is for 2 signs, the way it's worded on the estimate is fishy, I wouldn't put it past them to claim the client read the estimate wrong and the price was per sign, with a discount applied if 2 were ordered.
  4. Question Customer refuses to pay, can I take his graphics down?

Up here most collections companies are "don't pay unless we collect" types, however if they do collect, their fee is usually around 40%.
  5. Question Customer refuses to pay, can I take his graphics down?

I'm in Ontario, but we had to threaten to take a construction company to court to get paid. We had a client who was a lawyer, he drafted up a letter of demand for us, it just said pay us by this date or we will take you to small claims court. They ignored it so we paid $100 to file with small...
  6. Complaining about attitudes on S101?

I don't think the forum is horrible by any means, but the quality of the content has gone downhill drastically in the last 3 years or so. When I first joined there was a huge amount of knowledge here about signmaking & business management, most of the "old guys" who used to contribute so much...

  11. Limiting shrinkage of sticker on backing paper.

I have found general formulations to shrink a lot more than other 3 mil vinyls, oracal 3651 seems to shrink very little.
  12. Question General Formulations distributor in Canada

Where in Canada In Ontario I recommend Daly Digital Grimco carries some of their products, also most of their briteline series of vinyl is just rebranded general formulations, it's pretty easy to tell which is which as they have reused the numbering system that GF uses. TCT graphic products...
  13. Why with these horrible pop ups.

Jesus, I've been running ad blocker plus for about 2 years on this site, I just turned it off to see what all the fuss was about. It's some of the most obtrusive ads I've seen in quite a while, I'll be keeping the ad blocker active for sure from now on.

  16. Your Tax Dollars at Work road sign cost

Lol! It's not my normal rate by a long shot, I just used it as an example of how bureaucracy can cause the price of a basic job to sky rocket, if we were able to do it our way it would be around $250 total
  17. Your Tax Dollars at Work road sign cost

I tried pointing that out, they weren't amused!
  18. Your Tax Dollars at Work road sign cost

If the installer needs to hire police and traffic control to shut down a lane of freeway I can see this costing around that, all of these things need to be coordinated and there are minimum charges (if you hire the police to safely shut down a lane of traffic, it will be a minimum of 2 cars for...

  20. Direct print on aluminum and arrow shaped coro

It's a well known fact in the industry that real estate agents are the worst clients, they want everything for the lowest possible price and they want it tomorrow. My money is on her lying about her previous prices and hoping you will bite. But who knows, maybe i'm just a jaded old man...
