  1. Can someone please walk me through: subtank refill

I would check their is ink flowing through the ink tank solenoids. As the lines at the top are from the ink cartridges and the lower ones are into the subtanks (you can see the subtanks behind). I have changed my solenoids twice in the 14.5 years I have had my VJ1604. I managed to clean them...
  2. I think i may have made the biggest mistake ever buying a new Mutoh

OK the technician has been and spent the entire day and a lot more trying to fix faults. On the printer the only thing he could find was the bi-directional alignment was way out and this has helped big time printing on their polymeric material. I have not touched any alignments as I felt it was...
  3. I think i may have made the biggest mistake ever buying a new Mutoh

Yes I did get samples from a 1641SR before purchasing. Biggest issue is that none of the big material manufacturers have profilled for this machine and some of them have said they are not going to. Due to the lack of them sold. I cannot think their should be such a large issue with this as it is...
  4. I think i may have made the biggest mistake ever buying a new Mutoh

I don't want to adjust the bidirectional printing as it is not doing this over the length of the print. As I am getting a technician over next week. I have also noticed the encoder disk on these machines is no longer enclosed like the valuejet machines. Which will surely have further issues with...
  5. I think i may have made the biggest mistake ever buying a new Mutoh

Well I have cleaned the encoder and it has improved the print slightly but their are still blurring across the print in areas. Vacuum is almost on full and the material is flat going through the printer. Their is still too much ink being placed down as blacks and darker prints are flowing into...
  6. I think i may have made the biggest mistake ever buying a new Mutoh

I purchased the machine of Grafityp in the UK. I am using Onyx 21 as my RIP We do not use Grafityps materials and tend to sway to 3M, Avery and Oracal print medias. All of Grafityps profiles are very similar except for heat setting and all use Effect Fine & Fog 3, which is the slowest effect...
  7. I think i may have made the biggest mistake ever buying a new Mutoh

I have had to try and alter profiles before and when you start moving ink levels and other parts of generic profiles some colours are altered and some stay the same. I was originally told years ago to only use material manufacturers profiles that are specific. I do not have enough time in my...
  8. I think i may have made the biggest mistake ever buying a new Mutoh

I purchased a new Mutoh Xpertjet 1641SR two months ago to replace our 14 year old Mutoh Valuejet 1604. This so far has turned into the biggest issue ever even though basically it is still based on the original Valuejet. Their are very little print profiles for this machine from such suppliers as...
  9. Mutoh XpertJet 1641SR – Media cockling!

I think I have these ones already. They are ICC ones. SC
  10. Mutoh XpertJet 1641SR – Media cockling!

Are they specific profiles or ICC ones? Thanks SC3
  11. Mutoh XpertJet 1641SR – Media cockling!

Have you managed to get any proper media profiles for this machine. I am having a headache and issues with some of the ones I have tried. Very limited on profiles for this machine. SC
  12. New printer keeps dropping of the network

The Xpertjet is on 192.16.1.41 & the Valuecut is on 192.168.1.200. So I am at a loss with this one. SC
  13. New printer keeps dropping of the network

Just in case I have missed something on setting this up We have a new Mutoh Xpertjet and Mutoh Valuecut plotter plugged into a network hub but not connected to the internet. When printing the Xpertjet it occasionally hangs whilst printing and I cannot restart it. When checking the connection...
  14. Need Help Mutoh 1641sr Printing Wrong Size

Honestly?!!! That cannot be your real name???
  15. New Mutoh Xpertjet 1641SR

I never said that Onyx should provide profiles. I expect sellers of media to provide base profiles and possibly the manufacture of the printer. I was told many years ago that it is only wise to use the proper manufacturers profiles as these would of been properly set up ( we hope)! SC
  16. New Mutoh Xpertjet 1641SR

Yes Pauly I agree about the RIP but it is so different to how Wasatch is laid out. I feel as if I am starting from scratch again! I would of expected some of the big brands of material would of had some profiles for this machine. It should not be up to the end user to make profiles for medias...
  17. New Mutoh Xpertjet 1641SR

Mike At last I have found another user/owner of this machine! I have been all around the material suppliers and have now drawn a blank. I am so annoyed as this is so much like the previous Valuejet and adapting some profiles of that should work. Sadly my RIP has changed from Wasatch to Onyx...
  18. New Mutoh Xpertjet 1641SR

  19. Onyx 21 & Mutoh Xpertjet 1641SR Material Profiles

Hi Caren Doing his does not import ICC profiles of which I have found some more. Is their a way to import ICC profiles? Thanks SC
